That's sad. Reminds me of hiring a building inspector before you buy the house. I feel sorrier for the baby than the couple for some reason. Really heart breaking.
They have done just about everything to become parents and any child would be blessed to call them mom and dad. Having gone to hell and back with infertility then have this happen is a heartbreaker. I hope they can bring that little one home. All three deserve better than what they've been through.

That's funny. "the rich are looking to import new ones"

Do you know how many babies are adopted from China into Canada every year? Thousands. And no, the parents aren't "rich", but it's not cheap, either.

ue.

well excuse me for being alive in your universe! anyway, why cant they get a baby here? or in the states i guess? i agree with the ones that say you should have a baby of your own race. it isnt fair to the kids to take them away from their own people. and if so many women stopped killing their unborn babies, wed have more children.

Do you feel women should be forced to give birth if they are pregnant?

So you want us to ignore the overpopulation problem? We should ignore the fact that there's millions of babies out there with no home or food, and instead give birth to our own unwanted children and give THEM up for adoption instead.

Clear your head. The world isn't that black and white.

I'm not prepared to support forced birth hospitals or the pregnancy police.

Well, excuse me for thinking you're an idiotic,ill-informed, clueless person with little understanding or tolerance for the big world. Didn't you read my post? The waiting list is 7-10 years. Maybe you're as bad at math as you are at understanding inter racial adoption. Or maybe you're just a non-tolerant righteous twit.

I'm glad you don't live in my neighborhood. Please keep your ill informed, stupid opinions to yourself.

Kreskin: often the "medical" issues are somewhat exaggerated, but it could also be real. I would suggest they take the medical repoorts to a pediatrician who understands Chinese (if they have the originals). Things are not always what they seem, but at a distance it's hard to tell. I personally am curious about what the issues are.

Responsibility leads one to make choices in life. In other words, if you do not want to get pregnant, cease promiscuity. Abstinence until one is married and ready for a mature sexual relationship goes a long way to easing overpopulation. furthermore, Canada is hardly overpopulated.
Abortion is not a means of birth control.

I don't support international adoptions. As for the Chinese, the very fact virtually all of the adoptions concern girls should give any thinking person pause. Canada and Canadians should ask what the hell is going on. Obviously, many Chinese, in their one child per family society, are dumping daughters into orphanages and then hoping to have a son. And we're participants in this repugnant exercise?

You have a good read on this. They're getting mixed signals on the diagnosis. It was originally described as a "large lump" though one report said it had been resolved. Who knows how or what exactly it is/was. Also the young mother concealed the pregnancy and there's some concern about prenatal care.

A - You don't support international adoptions. That's great. Don't do it. And don't come to my house.

B - The Chinese culture does not value girls for several reasons, one is who looks after the parents when they get old. The options for these girls are, orphanages until 12, then sold to the highest bidder or out on the street, or adoption. Which do you choose, when you're not on your high horse? I assume that you personally are taking in several street children here in Canada? You must be, you're quite sanctimonious about the rest of us.

My goodness, Miss Dime, you have a mighty big chip on your shoulder. Some folks have different opinions than you. Get used to it.

Oh, look, it's sanctimonious here to enlighten us.

Oh, I bow down. Please God, I mean Sanctimonious, please lead me from the dark. I always thought abortion was birth control. Where did I go wrong? Why, I personally have had 14 abortions this year alone.

My goodness..have you considered valium? It will help you to be calm. Forgive me for not having the same opinion as you. How dare I assume we must disagree sometimes!

Just some thoughts

I really hope that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's wedded bliss lasts longer than Tom Cruise and [SIZE=-1]Katie Holmes, given that they will soon have four children.

Oh, I'd better be careful. I wouldn't want to be banned or reported for disagreeing with the one, the only, the great, the true word of God as spoken by sanctimonious, who knows all.

You wouldn't have, say, a 4 or 5 page sermon that you could conveniently copy and post here, explaining why international adoption is an affront to the One Catholic Church, or better yet, perhaps you and makebelievegirl can show us how it's all connected to homosexuality? You've already brought up abortion, isn't that all of your favorite topics?

Maybe you can show that this is all due to our tolerance toward Islam, and by adopting internationally, we'll all soon be burning hijabs and dumping the ashes in the streets of Toronto or something.

Or better yet, stick to something you know even the tiniest bit about, although that's likely very hard for you.

I assume you believe adopting an insulting tone and supplying sarcastic remarks makes you a superior Canadian whose opinions on all matters are much more accurate than the rest of us inferior mortals. Whatever does the Church have to do with this issue? Did I even once mention the Church? We are, last time I checked the thread, talking about adapting the cultural mores of immigrants into the mainstream of Canadian culture.

Not too different from bio parents and all their prenatal testing is it? They have to decide if they want to continue with their pregnancies.

If you look into adoption here you'd see why. The wait can be YEARS and there are not any guarantees. Whatever you think of abortion, adoptive parents have no control over that. Do you think they should remain childless because you don't approve of abortion or interacial adoption? Because that may be their only other option.

Frankly, I'd be more concerned in the children's view of things that those who have never experienced what they will. It's easy to know what's best when you're completely detached sometimes, but that doesn't make it right. It'd be nice to ask an orphan in Cambodia whether they'd prefer to be adopted and raised by a loving family or left there.
