I suspected after the IPCC report on the review for policy makers was released we would see a flood of catastrophic proportions in this forum (sorry, couldn't help the hyperbole).

So I thought a poll might be a good touch to add to this debate.

Feel free to explain your reasons, although I suspect it's just rehashing other threads.

lmao tonnington, you wanna borrow my stick for that horse?

I would love to see a bipartisan approach, with industry front and center, either putting up viable solutions or explaining themselves.

I selected Sweeping changes because it seems obvious to me that we can't continue as we are. Any changes that are proposed will be muted somewhat by pressure from industry so we should start as high as we can and hope for the best.

We definitly need to get on the right track now. It ain't going away on its own.

Addition: To spice up the debate a little seeing as #jan and CDN Bear were the first to weigh in. I have found proof that the icecap melting is a wash. Doesn't matter, won't effect the planet. There is a experiment that can be done. The results are repeatable and consistant.
A demonstration can be found here: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/448454/global_warming_is_lie/

The issue of rising ocean levels isn't the melting of the sea bound ice, it's due to thermal expansion as the water heats up and land locked ice which melts into the ocean. The majority is due to the thermal expansion.

My little post was only a joke, but, I was not aware thermal expansion was such a factor. I know with more volatile things like gasoline temperature change and expansion are a considerable factor. The reason cars have an overflow recovery system. I'm definitley looking at this in a new light.:evil3:

I think Mr. Gore might have used the ice cubes in the glass trick on his documentary, can't remember for sure.

I posted a graph showing how the thermal expansion continues long after other atmospheric stabilization, I posted it twice I think but I can't find the larger picture here's the small pic

Yes, true, I just learned from my 13 yr old daughter, apparently because the oceans absorbe 25% more heat than the atmosphere. :evil3:
And would conversly release heat more slowly. Aren't there laws of thermal dynamics? Like abc, 123. That simple to do the math, not for me, but ...
