I think this thread is more for religous propaganda. Screw with peoples rights so they can be miserable. It always come from the same campaigners. Lieexprs may have a point afer all in his own way. The marriage is over anyway. He's going to leave her when the kids are out of the house.
I have more respect coming from someone who is married, that would be a position of understanding the difficulty first hand. was that a good answer?
well, to be fair, westmanguy doesn't seem to agree with Catholic views on divorce, and he's the one that opened the thread. And I don't think the Church has the right to make laws pertaining to divorce, but it does have the right to follow its own dogma. If you're not Catholic, divorce is your right under the law.
Everyone makes mistakes and everyone lies. If you say you have never made a mistake or never lied, then you just made a mistake by lying.
I think divorce is okay in some situations but I don't have much respect for people who have married / divorced multiple times. Simply because they are naive and don't take love or marriage seriously.

In order to be married in the church, my husband and I had to attend sessions with a sacramental minister, attend a family planning seminar, and the icing on the cake, attend an engaged encounter. The engaged encounter was 2 and a half days of counselling and arguing. They brought up all the issues that typically tear a family apart... money management strategies, family size, fair fighting.... two of the couples (it was about 8 couples) never went on to get married. They said it's usually at least one couple from the weekend who realizes they're really not on the same page. It was eye opening, and my husband and I still use a lot of the strategies they taught us. Especially what we learned about arguing fairly.
I was just curious since I know some priests are married, and not all of their marriages are harmonius. There's no good or bad answer, I was honestly just curious.
yeah, in the Catholic church. in some of the latin rites, a man who is previously married can become a priest. Once a priest though, a man can't get married.
