We'll have to agree to disagree then my friend.

I've always believed that anything that imposes itself between the rational apprehension of ones existence in the name of substituting a system of belief or a code of morality that those who practice this belief break of their own volition and then accuse the world of hypocrisy deserve only contempt. Are not to be trusted because they embrace the irrational and fail to live by the standards they've committed themselves to....but demand that of the world.

Religion....listen to your own heart beating and you will know the wonder of existence. You don't need some hodge-podge of translated and re-translated....interpreted and re-interpreted mumbo-jumbo to celebrate life and know the difference between right and wrong.

Organized religion satisfies the same misconception that businesses employ in hawking their wares...Goodyear isn't in the business of making tires they're in the business of making money.

Organized religions aren't about bringing peace tolerance and understanding to the world they're about defining the world to serve their agendas....

Organized religions are about bring eternal salvation to their followers not the world. Bringing peace, tolerance and understanding to the world is how the follower finds eternal salvation. Goodyear is in the business of returning value to it's stakeholders. Making tires is how it's employees create value. To be a like for like comparison, Goodyear would have to be an employee owned business, like that airline company. Both corp and church need a board of directors though.

''empire is crumbling ... The evil Red Menace...brought to its knees!''

With new leftist governments in Venezuela, Peru, Nicaragua, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, you just might have to wonder ...

I guess we have to "experience" the worst kind, to really know and appreciate the "best" kind,

I think.!!!!!

It is said, that we grow "wiser" with age, so can you imagine what he was like when "young"!!!
a scary thought.

Great Post

I loved that post I am thinking of sending it to everybody I know. It was the highlight of my day. Thirty six of them and they are all true. I am sure if I thought about it for a bit I could probably find even more reasons. Thanks alot for making my day.

Talloola; the adage you have used is an old truism but you haven't told us what you're refering to. If from the preceeding frame you mean the shift to socialism or humanistic economic systems, why the fear, it's a relatively slight shift for Canada, one we have prepared for for decades.

I thought it was funny too, but like many tragic things we need to look at them this way before we act.

Sorry, should have quoted remarks by Sanctus, as I was replying to his remarks about the old biggot.

Over the years our "western" leaders have pointed out the most hated leaders all over the world,
and we have been appalled at the behavior of some of these leaders, and believed that most of
them should be feared and "worried" about, AND right under our noses, popping up as the leader
of the most powerful country in the world, (at least for now) looms george w. bush, who is
equally as appalling and dangerous as many in other parts of the world, and should be "worried"
about. Just shows us it isn't "that" hard, (if you have large amounts of money) to buy your way
to the top, and actually be "voted" into that position. I think he is actually a pawn, as he alone
doesn't have the intelligence to influence a "dung beetle", but "around him" gathered the "sorts",
who put him in the oval office, as he did have the knack of looking "casual and buddylike" to the
american people.
I do feel very worried, just like I did concerning "those other" world leaders, now and in the past,
who don't have any concern for "world peace", only about their own power and popularity.
So, what now, it is a long way back to respectability for the u.s., and I am hoping the people,
in 2008, think very hard, and do the right thing for their country and the world.
