How are you on TIG welding 16 or 14ga aluminium. I'm trying to teach myself so I can fab custom body work for my dragbike. Any hints or tips beyond the basics of absolute cleanliness of the material and very very close fit. I gave up on 16 ga and am going to try a bit thicker 14 ga for the gas tank at least. Everything else is 14 ga and only needs to be cosmentic. The tank needs to be tight. Steel is no problem and aluminium at 1/8" is ok. The real thibn stuff is brutal but then again TIG on aluminium is about as tough as you can get. I got a Miller Econotig with pedal at 240v.

Why? Because you dont seem the open minded type. Im fairly good at reading people and your very attached to your biases....sorry.....you asked.

I read as much as I can on everything I can. Does not mean I accept them.
I not only studied, for example, neo-paganism/new age theologies in Seminary, I have read a great many books on the topic. On the most basic level, good to know the other side in evangelizing.

If paganism took off and became a popular organized religion Sanctus would be out of a job. No one wants to be out of work. Got a trade to fall back on Sanctus? Even Jesus of Nazareth was a carpenter/framer before he ventured in to the messia business.

Yup, I'd join with the remnant Church that would remain and start all over again:)

Or possibly pursue my writing in more detail---I would love to just write the day away.

so why go and ruin it all by calling it rubbish?

you should know well enough that these theologies encourage love and respect and kindness and don't glorify or result in death. "culture of death" is a total misnomer in my eyes.

Ya go easy, don't go to hot straight out, or you'll blow through, you gotta get it super clean and pre heat it. If you are going to do any open root, you'll need to fab up a back box or small blower and pump straight argon on the ass end of the weld(underneath). You got a good machine there, so you should be ok. Just go at it slow, don't try and force the heat in to it. If you hold the tungsten in one spot and your poddle doesn't show up in a few seconds, increase your heat, or peddle, as you move forword in your weld, ease back on the peddle, real slow, and by the time you hit the end, you should be near off of it, lol.

I hope that helped...

You ARE a miricle and dont you dare let anyone tell you anything else :)

I knew THAT! lol i wouldnt expect anyone to tell me anything else. I know quite a bit about the chemistry of the molecules of life but i still wouldn't dare to think of any living thing as anything BUT a miracle.

nanotechnology is a bit pathetic compared to that.

Neo-paganism is rubbish. I could elaborate, but haven't the time at present as I'm due for my first Confirmation class with the kids of the new parish........First time they'll get me is tonight. Bit of resentment here as the former priest was much loved and he was moved suddenly for personal reasons they are not aware of. (and no he did not molest anybody-that is not the personal reason)

I had the distinct pleasure of being basically told off by the Head of the eucharist ministers when I dismissed them (I'm a very trad Catholic-I do not use eucharistic ministers ever). After my first official Mass this past Sunday the head of the Altar Guild complained because I do the Eucharistic Prayer in Latin.

All in all, off to a great start here!:)

Would learning about neo-paganism and new age in a seminary be akin to learning about the Torah in an Iranian university. Try attending a pagan gathering that is publically open. Not many around but look on the web. It may enlighten you attitude a tad.

Also quickly-sorry I really am in a rush---Seminary certainly has a biased approach, no doubt about it and I'd be the first to admit it. That is why I studied more on my own. and I have been involved with, as observer, with several pagans and a few times attended, again as an observer, various rituals.

In fact, I know how I come across in stark words, but you'd probably be surprised at how many different things in the faith world I've exposed myself to.

And now, I'm off...

I usually start well but after an inch or so I think my material; gets a bit hot and blow through starts. I have a bit better luck with a stitch technique. Do an inch move forwards 3 inches and so on then go back to start and pickup where I left off with same routine. I do get cracks in the backside of some of my welds. My fit has to be much much better I think.

Quickly, because I'm in a hurry I'm afraid...basically when I have to deal with teenagers coming out of neo-pagan sects, it is important to know their terms of reference so as to counter them with truth.

You are using the WRONG terms. Educate yourself because what youve been taught is WRONG. Wiccan is NOT invasive nor does it call for children to hurt themselves. You are dealing with mentally ill children NOT Paganism.
