I watched the movie Lf Boys last night with the family, and I loved it. I'm not very well versed on the Aviators of the Great War(LWF) and did catch that the movie was based on true events, but I never place much historical faith or value in Hollwood educations/productions, especially where American interests are concerned. I mean no offence by that, ITN will know what I mean.

Has anybody with knowledge of the Aviators of the Great War(LWF), seen the movie?

How accurate was it?

Were there many "Skinner's" in the Air Corp in France or any of the Allies?

The movie reviewers all gave it praise (of course)....the military sites are arguing about the construction of the planes (of course)......

Skinners - are you referring to the cast member who is Black? Not sure what you mean.

I'd say many people enjoyed it if they don't know too much about WWI history and it gives enough interest others may become interested in it....

Yes I ment the character "Skinner", I am an admirer of the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII(LWF). But I was not aware of Black Pilots in WWI(LWF). I wasn't sure of the historical accuracy, even though at the end of the movie it made mention of the fact that he later joined the Americans, but was not allowed to fly(F**KING shameful)if that was true.

I thought it to be quite a well done movie, but had no basis to analys its accuracy.

The treatment of the qualified Blacks in both wars was insulting.... amends have been made now in modern times, but their contributions were on par considering the odds they had to overcome....

The military guys say it is pretty accurate but military guys never agree on anything....at least in my experience either they love something or hate it.... no "waffling" hahaha...

The argument they make here is their perception of historical accuracy.... but I think the producer and director went to great lengths to reproduce as much fact as is possible without conducting yet another war and for obvious reasons the original photography would not have sufficed...
