When he came through the door she stove in his noggin with the cast iron frypan. She's a big girl, too, made from Viking stock.

LOLLLLLLl good for her! Since I found this path Ive found a great deal of strenth againts people who want to victomise me INCLUDING dates that could have gone badly. My ex's were quite like your friends hubby. And I was told a good christian woman gave in......pfffffft A good Pagan woman invites you in and its recipicle!

I don't know how to take the article presented. I do admit to thinking paganism is not a real religion, as it seems to be a make it up as you go along kind of thing. Not something I'd welcome any of my kids getting involved with.

Jainism, Hinduism, Shintoism are probably strange to you, too. Gobs of religions out there. Each of them think they're the cat's meow and most think they're the only true cat's meow.

Paganism in general is a very complex term, that is used to denote totally different sets of beliefs. Though I am Pagan, so, obviously, I must have a very low IQ, I still managed to get a very good education (I know it is hard to imagine, marygaspe, but why don't you just give it a try?), and for the last three years I've been reading a lot about different branches of Paganism, and the native religions of different peoples. After all this time and research I would hesitate to speak of "Paganism in general". And just how much do you know of Paganism, marygaspe, to make such a bold statement?
As for the Pagans of today having no connection to the Pagans of the past... Well, unfortunately, that is too true. We have very little connection to our Pagan Ancestors and their system of beliefs. We have to grope in the dark, reconstructing traditions, and rituals and practices, because christians have destroyed everything they could belonging to our native Religion. I will tell you just one fact - when the population of my country was baptized by force, the newly-arrived christian church forbade the people to play music. Any music, music of any kind, anywhere, except for the christian psalms in the christian churches. All other kinds of music were considered sinful and Pagan, and playing musical instruments and singing were punished by death. A whole layer of cultural heritage was destroyed. The oldest Russian folk songs now date only from the 17-18th centuries, and that's practically yesterday, in the terms of national history. We used to have a lot of unique musical instruments, and some of them were found during archeological diggins, and some people are now trying to figure out how to use them, and to learn to play them, but that is not the authentic thing, that will never be rediscovered now. As for building christian "temples" on the sites of our most honored places of worship - I won't even talk about it, because it was a common practice. And now, when I read this post, I felt relieved to know that nothing's changed over the centuries. Christians are still just as ready to destroy other traditions, and to convert people by pure force.
Girl, I know where you're coming from here. We had one of those "new age" stores in our neighbourhood once and every nutbar and crack-pot in the town poped up. It was amazing how bizarre some of the material in that store was. We went in to see when it first opened and it frankly gave me the willies, like standing in the gateway to hell or something
Pagans with their low IQs seem to be a lot braver than christians, who see the devil's horns in everything they cannot understand. And, definitely, the low-IQ'd Pagans seem to have a much broader outlook, since they know what to do with the "bizzare" stuff. :wave: Poor christians - to live all one's life in fear of hell, feeling that fear awaken in you when you stray away from your "shepherd"... Poor little stupid sheep....
Talking of animals reminds me once again of marygraspe and her words about how stupid it is to worship trees. I have a question - is it much wiser to poison rivers, lakes and oceans, to poison the air and to ruin nature? It was the christian thinking that paved the way to the global warming and it is thanks to christian treatment of Nature that we now face ecological catastrophes. Christianity has got no respect for Life, no Respect for Nature. Since you are the kings of creation, you can do all you please and drat the consequences, right?
I know it comes from evil, from Satan and that its function is to turn people away from God and Holy Mother Church. I know it is a belief system based on narcisstic pleasures and is, for the most part, made up. I see you do not fit the general category of its membership. However, for the most part paganism appeals to those with low self-esteem and intelligence. It denies God because it is afraid of Him.
Your words only confirms the evil in paganism. It is self-made and self created. It appeals to people with no direction who prefer to satisfy their own interests instead of conforming and reforming themselves into decent people.
Hardly a Christian fault! The Church is geared to life, and you surely must know that.
