Was Victoria, now Ottawa
When I first joined this forum there where a few people that are not here anymore. Some that I remember where Rev Blair and Peepod. What happened to them? Did they get kicked off? Anybody know?

Cough cough, choke, cough. I'm sorry you miss them Gonzo, but commies have never been something I'd miss.

Rev. Blair and peapod were banned in a little behind the scenes dust-up among mods--a status I believe they had at the time, if my memory is correct, which was the root of the issue--and admins over how the board was going to be run about a year ago. Let sleeping dogs lie; it's not important anymore.

It appears that the forum mods have applied a double standard when it comes to poster behavior: anyone who dares to defend Islam or takes a lib approach to events is held to a stricter standard of forum decorum. Anyone else is allowed an "open season" approach in criticizing or name calling.

Therefore, if you are going to post here we'll have to accept that this is the standard they have decided upon.

Oh baloney.

The Reverend, who at least had a brain in his head, had the unfortunate habit of calling anyone
that disagreed with his own leftist views a "swine mounter". (the PC version, I'd ask you to imagine his real words) This gets tiring in debate, and when I first came here, the Reverend got away with just about everything. To say nothing of the fact the board was SOOOOO left, it was like a self-congratulatory committee of the Socialist International.

In fact, the board has become much more even-handed in my opinion.

Although I was sorry to lose both the Reverend Blair and Peepod, the truth is neither could tolerate the expression of ideas outside the parameters of their own little lefty view of what was "correct"

Well said, Colpy, which I suppose only means I agree with you. ;-) The Rev. in particular, though he was no fool, got pretty vitriolic and thought everybody who disagreed with him should be banned. Tolerance wasn't one of his strong points. Some of his posts I believe also appear under the name Canada500; it sure reads like the same guy, anyway, and that user's banned as well.

It's kind of like a balloon poised above a needle, or an accident about to happen......you want to be around and make sure you don't miss anything....:)
