For the strawberries I poured eggnog over the top...........was suprisingly tasty.......good thing eggnog is around only once a year! I allow myself 2 containers for the season. Its one of my weakness BUT I take the container and pour it in a gallon container, then add the same amount of 1% milk and it tastes really good.

I was watching one of the late night shows (the Scottsman) Im almost out and he’s doing this speal on chineese knock offs. He said he was looking for a buzz lightyear doll about 5 years back and he could “Get Woody but not Buzz” then he said it reminded him of the days when he was drinking “It was just the opposite he could get Buzz but he couldn’t always get Woody.” Welllll THAT woke me up. Night yall LOL

When I was married (the last time) The kitchen was the one place the kids and I really connected. The ex was a truckdriver and rarely around but even he and I talked more in the kitchen than any other time. The conversations were always varied and the food........well if I was cooking it was good. The kitchen was always a safe place to chat.

Im staying in the kitchen awhile theres to many preachers out in the Livingroom!

Before my HA all we did when friends came over was play vids and smoke dope. We still smoke dope but now spend the evening upstairs conversing and interacting without a TV on. As a family we always ate together. Luckily I came from a well adjusted stable home. One of my favourite things to do was go grocery shopping with my mum. Even as a useless lump of a teenager pushing the shopping cart while with my mum was enjoyable and rewarding.

I loved saturdays. Shopping day. Mom always made grinders and we all sit and giggle after putting the groceries away :) My family was the same way BUT the boys......Critter and my ex, would play the clowns tossing the girls Kotex over the ailes!!!!!!!

One thing my dad would not tolerate was clowning around and being disruptive in public. At home no problems but run amok and make a nuisance of yourself in public was a huge NO-NO. I have lost track of how many times me and my brother were made to sit with our hands on our heads in the middle of the mall till we behaved.

My ex was worse than the kids. I dont think he would have sat with his hands on his head. The only head his hands connected to was mine, which is one reason why I wear dentures. The girls and I were always mortified and we'd pretend we didnt know them. But when he was on the road I let the kids plan one meal a week on their own. Critter was a damn good cook ;)

I got laid off today. Not fired, just laid off. Why is food so comforting? Cooking, getting your hands covered in dredge and creating different tastes. Seems so simply earthy like a prayer or High Magic.

Well maybe its a kick in the arse to get going on pagansofvirginia.com

Food is so comforting because it is one of the basic needs. Food, water, sleep and air. That warm fuzzy feeling as you drift of to sleep, the quenching of a powerful thirst, and taking a deep breath of cool clean air.

At least they waited till after Christmas to lay you off. Any chance of a call back in near future? What line of work? Got UI to fall back on?

I was putting up ads on a site.It paid 12.50 a day 6 days a week. Under the table. She might be able to afford me again in the future. The freezers full and all the bills are paid this month so Im not real worried, just back to staying home and pinching pennies a bit tighter.

I think I'll try this tomorrow night its one of my Sisters

Shrimp Mozambique
2 to 4 servings

1 pound medium shrimp ( 26-30ct ) peeled and deveined
2 packets Goya seasoning (con azafran)
1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup red wine
6 cloves minced garlic
1/4 of a squeezed lemon (2 teaspoons juice)
1/2 cup water
6 Portuguese pops (bread rolls) salt
pepper
onion powder
fresh chopped parsley
crushed red pepper (or red pepper sauce) or cayenne pepper, optional

Add water and butter in a pot or large skillet and simmer on low until butter melts. Add Goya, garlic, salt , pepper and onion. Stir and simmer on low for 3-4 minutes.

Add shrimp and wine, stir, and turn up the heat. When the sauce just begins to boil, lower heat, cover, and simmer on very low heat for 4-5 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Add lemon juice and parsley. Stir, cover, and simmer on very low for 4-5 minutes.

Spoon shrimp and sauce into bowls. Serve with bread on the side for dipping into the sauce.

Sound yummy. I've taken to doing all my shrimp in wine. May have to go home open freezer a stand there and stare at it for a bit. Can't figure out what to have for dinner tonight. It's a seafood night just can't make up my mind.

You'll gett cold. I wish Salmon would go on sale. Its 6 a pound at the moment, way out of my range. Ive got 12 lbs of shrimp at 3.99 a pound and tomorrow I'll have 30 lbs chicken breast it was .99 a pound, they special ordered it for me. I still have some liver and frozen broccolli I'll be good for awhile.

Tonight I fixed my stars/moons blanket with a blind stitch. I created a Penticle with a star and hunter green rope and lil lights. I put the second coats on the gourds and I started some cross stitch. Not bad for one night.

I buy farmed salmon fillets cheap. Will try check prices. The wild salmon steaks are pricey. I'm not a big fan of them. I love fish but hate fish bones.

My altar goes up and down. I think I am going to set it up permanent this weekend. I need to get a new athame. I always end up using mine for mundane tasks. I should make my own. I need to find a good oak, yew or ash dowel to make a staff out off. There is a 400 year old oak tree near me but the law forbids removing even dead wood from an environmentally significant area. The whole natural cut by hand stuff don't fly with me. I figure it is the thought and intent which counts. If I was stuck in dogma and ritual I would become a catholic.

Talk to ya next week.
