Laws based on ancient ideology will always repress someone. Religion should not be part of the state. I agree with you, life for women and children are pretty bad over there. But how do you change it? What course can be taken to change these countries?

I found the story pretty upsetting, but there seems to be so little that anyone really can do. One way that women have made change is to form organizations like the Women's Institute. They are a group of rural women that examine the plight of women in other parts of the world and try to help them help themselves. With the internet, there should be more possibilities where women in dangerous situations can reach out and seek help from women in more civilized parts of the world - if they can access technology.
