BREAKING NEWS

I am in full agreement with gopher's comments.

We will never tell you that you are unpatriotic.

Well it didn't take long to break that one!

Right-wing icon: Republicans have failed this country

RAW STORY
Published: Wednesday November 8, 2006

Conservative activist Richard Viguerie has released a statement that blasts the GOP's Congressional leadership in the wake of the loss of both the House and Senate.

"Every single member of the Republican leadership in the House should be replaced," says Viguerie. "They have failed the conservatives who put them in office, and they have failed the people of this country."

Viguerie attacks what he desribes as "the Big Business wing of the Republican Party" and urges GOP leaders to "get out of the way, and let a new generation of young, principled conservatives take their place," according to the release.

"Congressional Republicans should move as fast as they can to distance themselves from the Bush White House," says Viguerie. "That's the only way to come back from this disaster."

Excerpts from the press release follow...

"Yesterday's mid-term elections were a referendum on George W. Bush and his war on Iraq. Voters couldn't vote to fire Bush, so they did the next best thing -- they fired his party, in the House, in the Senate, in the statehouses around the Nation."

"This election," Viguerie said, "was also a referendum on the so-called 'neoconservatives' -- the Big Government Republicans who took us into a nation-building war while they busted the budget and enriched Big Business and its K Street lobbyists."

Viguerie said, "The only thing Denny Hastert & Company cared about was holding onto power. That's what led them to become Kings of Pork. That's what led them to protect the likes of Mark Foley."

MAJORITIES FAVOR SMALLER GOVERNMENT, TRADITIONAL VALUES: "One thing this election was NOT is a repudiation of conservatism. The twin pillars of conservatism -- smaller government and traditional values -- have the support of the same voters who threw out the Republican Congress."

YAWN....

Yes yes...umm, its not like the country hasnt heard all this before...pretty much EVERY election where theres a shift of power, the winning side makes grand promises, and claims they're on a "mission from god" ala The Blues Brothers, to change everything. It never happens, and it never will. You gullibility in believing the donks does provide some amusement here on the boards tho.:D

The time of the neoconservatives has come and gone.

They have discredited themselves. They are history.

And BTW, the Presidency of Bush 43 has officially ended. The Presidency of Bush 41 has resumed.

Note how they no longer appear every day on USA television. The sad part is that the destruction they created will take a long time to repair. Let's hope that the international community will realize that these cons are only a minority and that the vast majority of Americans want peace for everyone.

It's odd that you say that seeing as you've demanded that I go to Guatemala and slaughter people that have done me no wrong, you support and defend the Hezbollah, a confirmed terrorist and criminal organization. And you're an American, much to the shagrin of a vast majority of Americans.

You know there is much to be said for the ability to vote in a minority government that can be kicked to the curb the day they shaft the country. I kind of like the idea that our Prime minister does not have veto power and must tread more carefully to serve the Canadian public. However I also like the fact that Americans can vote for their local representative aside from their president so that you get the best representation for your area.

This shift in power is just a much needed balance that gives more Americans a voice in how their Country is run. The one-side power that was, trampled the rights, of too many. It also sends a clear message to the religious zealots that they are losing their grip on power in favour of the average moderate American who just wants to live a peaceful, stable and prosperous life.

Hey, at least he has the right to spew. If the people he supports were in power, there would be no dissent. Don't worry Bear, the people that gopher so brilliantly represents, the lunatic fringe left, are also a minority. And I think it is a bit premature for all the celebrating. They now have to present their plan on Iraq and the war on terror. Thing is, the terrorists dont give a schit if its republicans or democrats theyre blowing up.

I hope everyone realizes this statment is the precursor to "Its Bush's Fault we can't fix it" I hope they use it too, because the voting public will throw them out on their ass if they do.

In all honesty, I hope they do have a plan, and I hope it works. Heck if it did, I might even change party affiliations. But I think the "Bush's fault" is what we are going to get.

You claim to be a warrior, I do not. As for Hezbollah, it is a legitimate part of the Lebanese government. Since your hero Bush claims that he supports democratization in the Middle East, it is he who empowered them. If Hezbollah is criminal then you are saying Bush is a criminal as well.

You're an American much to the chagrin of Americans.

Hahaha! HEY BEAR DID YOU SEE THE HEADLINES? THE VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS VOTED THE SAME WAY I DID! AND WE TAKE PRIDE IN DEFEATING YOUR HERO BUSH!!!

But note that the Repubicans have no plan at all. In six years they have screwed up the USA and the Middle East and Iraq is in a state of civil war. In all this time the Republicans have not come up with even one single solution to all the problems they created. Not one. Yet, you worry about what solution the Democrats have to offer.

But not to worry. The Republicans did a good job of screwing up the USA in the 12 years of Reagan and Bush, Sr. It took virtually no time at all for Clinton to clean up the mess they created. And, if the Republicans cooperate with the Democrats it is a good bet that the patriotic party will fix up the GOP created mess again.

I know your not, your weapon is jueninile "next"s ,"keep trying"s and Islamic fundamentalist PR firms, mine was training, intellegence, a quest for the truth and a C7. At least I've actually left my house to do something. Not just sit behind a screen and wail about the "party of peace" being good.
Why do you cry to the mods about me comparing arguing with you to that of arguing with a two year old, then come back out and still claim I'm a Bush supporter? It only proves that you refuse to or are unable to read.
Prove I am a Bush Supporter.
I have stated, I hope to see Bush at the Hague, I've been critical of his policies, foriegn policy and his invassion of Iraq.
I have said as much, several times. So once again, prove I'm a Bush supporter.

I have proved you have a bigotry towards Christians, that you refuse to accept facts, that you are childish and that you can not or will not read. So please prove Bush is my hero.

Ever had a mosquito buzz your ear? Gopher has little purpose except to inflame.

If he were a true democrat he would allow all voices to be heard - that is what the democratic party stands for.

We should be free to write our beliefs and opinions here as much as this forum is "touted as liberal" whatever that means any more.

Censorship is a fool's mission.

Mosquito? NO. Nothing worse then spraining your ankle in the useless holes they dig themselves all over or the shear stupidity a gopher uses when crossing a road.

Sorry to disappoint you and your hostile friend Bear but I am NOT a Democrat. As far as I am concerned all are free to express themselves and you could not point to any thing I said that people shouldn't have that freedom. Bear can speak for himself and doesn't need you to hold his hand but you are also free to do so if that is what you wish to do.

Can you answer questions posed to you by your so called detracters?

Or will you just continue to deflet when asked for a reasoned course of action, from your point of view?

Or is that you have no answers, just more rhetoric?
