what is ironic and vastly amusing, as Johnny Utah pointed out, is that gopher has started a thread in which he hates anyone who has a justified reason to question the hyprocritical nastiness found in the Islam Holy Scriptures.

Gopher's very own, hate thread...

The Quarn and the Haddith, both point out that we can all convert, and as you rush to the nearest Mosque to apply, you might want to know these other choices, just to keep in your back pocket so to speak...

There are in fact three choices to us infidels and those who don't follow the Muslims' laws,

1. the first is to die a violent death at the Muslims' hand.{recent examples are the 16 year old girl being beheaded by her father]

2. the second is to pay for the privilege of living amongst them, and directly to the Muslim leader [and l imagine this extortion has deadlines and limits, such as loosing a limb if you don't tally up],

3. the third is to convert into a Muslim...

So there is hope for us poor ignorant infidels...

Kind of like the kidnapped reporters had to do a few months ago to escape from being murdered by Muslims...and l would be happy to provide the proof, just ask.

So the vast majority of Muslim converts are women you say gopher??? any stats or are you just stating another opinion...

I looked at the Quran and apparently they do actually allow women in, l imagine there is always a need for a cook and a sexual slave...

The above post by Northstar is blatant hate propaganda, not a fair or honest description of Islam's relation to non-Muslims.

Infidels (non-believers) can live among Muslims as long they don't try to convert Muslims and contribute to society. Yes non-beleivers have to pay, but its not like Northstar describes.

Muslims are obligated to pay a tithe to the local Mosque. I believe its 1/14th of their income. That money is supposed to be used for the benefit of the entire community including non-believers. If a non-believer is hungery, the local Mosque is obligated to feed them with money donated by Muslims. Since non-believers benefit from the peace, security and charity of Muslim society, those with wealth are obligated to contribute the equivalent of what Muslims give as a tithe to a charity of their choice. Churches and Synagogues are recognized as charities. No they do not have to give to the local Mosque, but many non-Muslims living in a Muslim society choose to give to the local Mosque. This system of taxation treats everyone the same and predates income tax.

Muslims have a long history of religious tolerance, despite propaganda to the contrary.

...It comes as a surprise to many visitors to discover that Iran, a country so hostile to Israel and with a reputation for intolerance, is home to a small but vibrant Jewish community that is an officially recognized religious minority under Iran's 1979 Islamic Constitution.
"[Ayatollah Ruhollah] Khomeini didn't mix up our community with Israel and Zionism - he saw us as Iranians," says Haroun Yashyaei, a film producer and chairman of the Central Jewish Community in Iran. Like Iran's Armenian Christians, Jews are tolerated as "people of the book" and allowed to practice their religion freely, provided they do not proselytize.
They elect their own deputy to the 270-seat Parliament and enjoy certain rights of self-administration. Jewish burial and divorce laws are accepted by Islamic courts. Jews are conscripted into the Army.
"We are one of the oldest Jewish communities in the world," Mr. Yashyaei says. "When Muslims came to Iran, we had already been here for centuries."
"Take it from me, the Jewish community here faces no difficulties. If some people left after the revolution, maybe it's because they were scared," says Farangis Hassidim, a forceful but good-humored woman who is charge of the only Jewish hospital in Iran. She adds: "Our position here is not as bad as people abroad may think. We practice our religion freely, we have all our festivals, we have our own schools and kindergartens."
For her, the well-equipped hospital in central Tehran is a model of religious harmony. "We have about 200 staff, 30 percent of them Jewish," she says. "These days, I'd say about 5 percent of our patients are Jewish, the rest are Muslims." A sign outside the hospital reads in Hebrew: "Love thy neighbor as thyself."...

When Christians conquered Muslim Spain, one of their first acts was to ethnically cleanse Spain of non-Christians. Jewish refugees were welcomed by Muslim nations. For example:

The History of the Turkish Jews

On the midnight of August 2nd 1492, when Columbus embarked on what would become his most famous expedition to the New World, his fleet departed from the relatively unknown seaport of Palos because the shipping lanes of Cadiz and Seville were clogged with Sephardic Jews expelled from Spain by the Edict of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain.
The Jews forced either to convert to Christianity or to "leave" the country under the menace "they dare not return... not so much as to take a step on them not trespass upon them in any manner whatsoever" left their land, their property, their belongings all that was theirs and familiar to them rather than abandon their beliefs, their traditions, their heritage. In the faraway Ottoman Empire, one ruler extended an immediate welcome to the persecuted Jews of Spain, the Sepharadim. He was the Sultan Bayazid II.

In 1992, the discovery year for all those connected to the American continents north, central and south world Jewry was concerned with commemorating not only the expulsion, but also seven centuries of the Jewish life in Spain, flourishing under Moslem rule, and the 500th anniversary of the official welcome extended by the Ottoman Empire in 1492.
This humanitarianism is consistent with the beneficence and goodwill traditionally displayed by the Turkish government and peoples towards those of different creeds, cultures and backgrounds. Indeed, Turkey serves as a model to be emulated by any nation that finds refugees from any of the four corners of the world standing at its doors.
In 1992, Turkish Jewry celebrated not only the anniversary of this gracious welcome, but also the remarkable spirit of tolerance and acceptance which has characterized the whole Jewish experience in Turkey. The events which were planned symposiums, conferences, concerts, exhibitions, films and books, restoration of ancient Synagogues etc. will commemorate the longevity and prosperity of the Jewish community. As a whole, the celebration aimed to demonstrate the richness and security of life Jews have found in the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic over more than five centuries and show that indeed it is not impossible for people of different creeds to live together peacefully under one flag...

I won't claim that all Muslim nations have always treated their non-Muslim minorities well. But in general, Muslim nations have treated their non-Muslim minorities far better than Christian nations or Jewish nations (Israel).

Examples

The Holocaust - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocaust
The Inquistion - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Inquistion
The Nakba - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakba

Christians and Jews are hardly in a position to criticize Muslims regarding religious tolerance.

Ok, Gopher I re read your posts.

You fight the good fight, but you have attacked or rebuttled, anyone that fails to fall in line with you.

You points are valid, but your absolute-ist frame of mind, will not allow any deviation from what you deem as valid.

I would like to back up ITN and ask you as well, if we have it all wrong.....

How should the West deal with Islamic fundamentalism?

Bear,

You and others say that I have "attacked" people on this thread. But nobody has pointed to any specific language in which I have attacked anyone.

PLEASE BE SPECIFIC: WHAT PEJORATIVE HAVE I USED TO ATTACK ANYONE?

I have been called "Jew hater", poked at verbally for being of Jewish background, accused of insulting without any specificity, and accused of hate (for whom???).

Be specific --- illustrate each and every point you are making.

I see people here unfairly criticizing Muslims but conveniently ignoring acts of barbarism committed by Christians that far exceed anything committed by Muslims. Then, some conveniently overlook the history of invasions and the current tide of invasions by Christians against Muslims. And when a respected reporter is murdered for her revelations about acts of barbarism against innocent Muslims she is referred to as "swine". When did I use such a word for anyone here????

Despite that you say (yet again, no less) that my "points are valid". Well, thank you for the validation. But I have also said previously that the way to deal with radical Islam is to pay reparations for the crimes committed such as France's invasion of Algeria and return of treasures stolen. Each invasion from the West should be similarly compensated. This would be the first step in correcting past problems. I remain open to other steps that can be taken.

Again, be specific: show me when I have used any form of pejorative against anyone on this thread.

The reader will again note that I re-wrote my view above on reparation as remedy but how it is ignored by ITN.

Note also how he does not specify how I "insulted" anyone.

Earth as one, your comments are infact the most hate-fill load of unfactual nonesence l have ever looked at, and believe me l didn't bother for long. It is amusing to see the Muslims Apologist come up with long past reports of all the terrible things they have gone through...

How pitiful...

And hypocritical, what did l post, l listed that one of the ways non-Muslims were allowed to exist was to pay there way...wakey, wakey...so get ready because when they try to rule our country as is the plan, we will have to support them in order to survive....the only problem with this is that the terrorists suicide attacks and the planned murders have been stifled by the answer to the war that was declared.

Now they are hiding, in Mosques, in our country, and in other Western countries...and this is a proven fact...unlike that goobly goop that l have seen in your posts...

Oh you mean this beauty?

that the way to deal with radical Islam is to pay reparations for the crimes committed such as France's invasion of Algeria and return of treasures stolen

I've never heard of any requests from the Islamofascists that they want their "treasurers" back. All I hear is death to infidels. Explain.

Oh yeah, great "proof" that I insulted anyone on this thread.

MARVELOUS proof.

As for the Algerian War of Independence, over 465,000 Algerians were killed by the French imperialists. Many of those who committed those crimes are still alive today and not one has been brought to trial.

We went to war to stop Saddam from invading Kuwait. Yet, the world did nothing to stop French imperialistic aggression. Justice demands that corrective action be taken. Failure to do so, as in other instances of Western imperialism, is what has caused the rise of Islamic radicalism. That point has been discussed previously on this forum.

Now, as for quotes which specifically show that I used any form of pejorative on anyone here, where's your proof?

You speak of Western Imperialism being the cause of radical Islam and yet radical Islam has existed since the 7th century and has shown it's face through Islamic Imperialism. Yeah I'm sure you're laughing. It was Islamic armies, of African slaves, who invaded France in the 8th century, and Islam then colonized southern Italy and Spain where it created societies where the majority ethnically indigenous Christian population was discriminated against and enslaved. It was the minaret and mosque that were the first symbols of oppression, not the cross and the sword. It was the west that was the victim first and not the other way around. What Islamic fundamentalists cry out today has been spoken throughout the ages;

"I was ordered to fight all men until they say `There is no God but Allah' " - Muhammad 682AD

"I shall cross the sea to their islands to pursue them until there remains no one on the face of the earth who does not acnowledge Allah" - Saladin 1189 AD

"We will export our revolution throughout the world… Until the calls 'there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah' are echoed all over the world." - Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini

"I was ordered to fight the people until they say there is no god but Allah, and his prophet Muhammad." - Two months after Sept. 11, Osama bin Laden.

Are you seeing a pattern here Gopher? I bet you don't.

Now, as for quotes which specifically show that I used any form of pejorative on anyone here, where's your proof?

Stop diverting attention, you made things between you and Chucka personal.

You're welcome. Now tell everyone how you have erred in your assertions that the "evil" west has been the reason Islamofascists have been killing innocent people the world over, beating their wives to submission, hanging homosexuals because they're icky and a myriad of other dark age crap they come up with. And while you're at it, explain to me how Islam has been a religion of peace since it's inception and continues to do so today, or at least has morphed into a peaceful religion.

Oh, btw, you have heard of the Crusades and of other "Christian" attacks upon Muslims, right?

OWNED!

When you do not provide an antithesis to support your opinions, you will be taken seriously, until then, I suggest you stay out of serious topics.

Christians going on crusades doesn't make Islamofascists right!

oh come on, l like gopher, at least types BIG, and has supplied us all with these thread in which he can profess his hatred of Islam...:) :) :)

SO goff, this l saved for your little thread- Now listen up...

The title of this latest threat, “New Attack on America be Afraid” is designed to evoke fear, is part of the mujahedin program that states- "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies..." (Qur'an 8:60).

story by Lara Jakes Jordan, North County Times:

WASHINGTON - A Web site is claiming that seven NFL football stadiums will be hit with radiological dirty bombs this weekend, but the government on Wednesday expressed doubts about the threat.

The warning, posted Oct. 12, was part of an ongoing Internet conversation titled "New Attack on America Be Afraid." It mentioned NFL stadiums in New York, Miami, Atlanta, Seattle, Houston, Oakland and Cleveland, where games are scheduled for this weekend.

The Homeland Security Department alerted authorities and stadium owners in those cities, as well as the NFL, of the Web message but said the threat was being viewed "with strong skepticism." Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke said there was no intelligence that indicated such an attack was imminent, and that the alert was "out of an abundance of caution."

"The department strongly encourages the public to continue to go about their plans, including attending events that involve large public gatherings such as football games," Knocke said.

Now we are not suppose to take the Muslim threats seriously, nor do we take the riots, the London terror plot for murdering millions in airplanes, the London Bombings the Bali Bombings, the New York Bombings, The murder of a old lady who cared for sick children, the effigy burning, the riots, the death threats on anyone who publishes anything the Muslims' don't like....

oh, and l made it your size goph....:)

Government skeptical of threat against NFL stadiums

LARA JAKES JORDAN

Associated Press

WASHINGTON - A Web site is claiming that seven NFL football stadiums will be hit with radiological dirty bombs this weekend, but the government on Wednesday expressed doubts about the threat.
The warning, posted Oct. 12, was part of an ongoing Internet conversation titled "New Attack on America Be Afraid." It mentioned NFL stadiums in New York, Miami, Atlanta, Seattle, Houston, Oakland and Cleveland, where games are scheduled for this weekend.
The Homeland Security Department alerted authorities and stadium owners in those cities, as well as the NFL, of the Web message but said the threat was being viewed "with strong skepticism." Officials at the NCAA, which oversees college athletics, said they too had been notified.
In Indianapolis, where the Colts were preparing for a home game this weekend, head coach Tony Dungy said, "I've been waiting for this to happen for a couple of years now and you try and handle the security and put it out of your mind."
"We'll let the security people do their job, and we'll do our job," Dungy said. "We've got a lot of confidence in NFL security and our own security here."
Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke said there was no intelligence that indicated such an attack was imminent, and he said the alert was "out of an abundance of caution."
"The department strongly encourages the public to continue to go about their plans, including attending events that involve large public gatherings such as football games," Knocke said.
The FBI also expressed doubt about the threat.
"While the credibility of the threat is questionable, we have passed the information on because it has been carried in some open source reporting," said FBI spokesman Richard Kolko. He said the FBI was discussing the threat with the NFL as "part of our routine discussions this week."
The nation's alert level remains at yellow, signaling an elevated risk of an attack. The threat level for airline flights is at orange, a higher level, where it has been since a foiled plot to bomb U.S.-bound commercial jets was revealed on Aug. 10.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said stadiums around the country "are very well protected through the comprehensive security procedures we have in place, including secure facility perimeters, pat-downs and bag searches."
Officials were made aware of the Web posting on Oct. 16. The threat was timed to be carried out on Sunday, Oct. 22, marking the final day in Mecca of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month.
"The death toll will approach 100,000 from the initial blasts and countless other fatalities will later occur as result from radioactive fallout," according to a copy of the posting that was obtained by The Associated Press.
The bombs, according to the posting, would be delivered to the stadiums in trucks. All but one of the stadiums - Atlanta - are open-air arenas, the posting noted, adding: "Due to the open air, the radiological fallout will destroy those not killed in the initial explosion."
Explosions would be nearly simultaneous, the posting said, with the cities specifically chosen in different time zones.
The posting said that al-Qaida would automatically be blamed for the attacks and predicted, "Later, through al-Jazeera, Osama bin Laden will issue a video message claiming responsibility for what he dubbed 'America's Hiroshima.'"
Tony Wyllie, the vice president of communications for the Houston Texans, said the team had been in contact with the NFL regarding what security precautions should be taken for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Amy Trask, CEO of the Oakland Raiders, said, "We work closely with a number of governmental agencies, including the FBI, and with the NFL on an ongoing basis."
Stacey Osburn, associate director of public relations for the NCAA, said the organization passed the warning to members "so that they may take the appropriate precautions."
The postings were made on a Web site dubbing itself "The Friend Society," which links to various online conversations and off-color cartoons.
Authorities traced the site's Internet provider back to Voxel Dot Net Inc., which has support and engineering staff based in Troy, N.Y. A man who answered the phone at Voxel, who declined to give his name, said he was unaware of the posted threat on the Web site and refused further comment.
The author of the threats, posted at 9:31 p.m. EDT on Oct. 12, identified himself online as "javness."
"In the aftermath civil wars will erupt across the world, both in the Middle East and within the United States," javness wrote. "Global economies will screech to a halt. General chaos will rule."
Fellow online posters sounded skeptical about the claims.
"This isn't something you should joke about," a poster identified as "Kim Possible" wrote in response almost two hours later. "If you are (serious) about this may I see your sources. Unless you're a psychic."
---
Associated Press writers Dave Goldberg and Ralph Russo in New York, Kristie Rieken in Houston, Josh Dubow in Alameda, Calif., and Michael Marot in Indianapolis contributed to this report.

Islam's Real Enemy - the Al Qaeda Apostasy
Jim Guirard

The Family Security Foundation, Inc. May 18, 2006

--
Terrorists claim that the West is Islam's mortal enemy, but according to Jim Giurard, an authority on Islamist doctrine, it is the teachings of fundamentalists and extremists that threaten moderate Muslims. But as long as we allow our enemy to frame the debate according to their own terms, we will still be falsely portrayed as Islam's greatest threat.

Islam's Real Enemy - the Al Qaeda Apostasy
For several months, a worldwide controversy has been smoldering over whether an Afghan believer in the God of Abraham, Abdul Rahman, should be put to death under Afghan Shari'ah (local Islamic law) for having converted many years ago from Islam to Christianity.

Not surprisingly, many radical Muslim clerics insist that his conversion automatically makes him an "apostate" and that he should be put to death -- if not "legally," then by vengeful mobs in the street.

Although Afghan President Hamid Karzai has permitted the targeted man to take asylum in Italy -- in part on the basis that he is somehow insane -- the problem will not go away. In fact, there are already hints that compulsionists might eventually charge Mr. Karzai himself with apostasy for having excused the "apostate" Rahman from a death sentence.

Fortunately, there is a plausible and true-to-Islam fashion in which moderate Muslims might rise to Karzai's defense, since he does not have clerical standing himself to quell this outrageous "death to the apostate" frenzy. This is for them to rise in rigorous defense of authentic, Qur'anic Islam, as contrasted to the pseudo-Islamic perversions thereof.

In this context, there are over 20 Qur'anic verses which contradict Afghan Shari'ah regarding conversion from Islam to Christianity.

One vital element here is that Christianity's founder, Jesus, is clearly identified by the Qur'an as one of Islam's five main Prophets and even as its "Messiah" (Quran 4:171) -- though this high standing is strictly limited by this verse's assertion that this is not the Divine status of Christianity's "Trinitarian" Godship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Imagine, please, how much better for President Karzai to settle the crisis via several Qur'anic verses, rather than by appearing to bow to "imperialist Western pressures." Here are just five of these compelling citations which make this not only possible but imperative.

[QUR'AN 2:256] "There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient."

[QUR'AN 2:136] " We believe in GOD, and in what was sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and all the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction among any of them. To Him alone we are submitters."

[QUR'AN 5:46] "And in their footsteps we sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light. And confirmation of the Law that had come before him: A guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah."

[QUR'AN 5:69] "Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the converts, and the Christians; any of them who (1) believe in GOD and (2) believe in the Last Day, and (3) lead a righteous life, have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve."

so, how do you interpret this....
