The White House on Saturday denied access to journalists from CNN, MS NOW and Politico, following through with US President Donald Trump's announcement that he would ban them from the building's grounds.

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of the press. The government cannot block stories, articles, or books before they are published or broadcast. Officials cannot punish journalists or media outlets for reporting critical or unfavorable facts about the government….&….government cannot deny press credentials or access based on the viewpoint or content of a news organization's reporting.

Or maybe all of these news outlets and their employees have been diagnosed with TDS trumping (pun intended) the constitution less than seven weeks from the midterm election? On Saturday, White House Correspondents’ Association President Jacqui Heinrich called on the Trump administration to “immediately restore” access for the news organizations that were blocked.
“The implications extend beyond these organizations: a standard used to exclude one news outlet because of its coverage could be applied to any outlet in the future,” Heinrich said in a statement. “The American people, through a free and independent press, must be able to scrutinize those elected to power, regardless of whether government officials view it favorably.”
Trump’s attempt to ban media outlets from the White House comes as people familiar with internal White House deliberations described him
as clear-eyed about the bleak political landscape facing Republicans in November’s midterm elections. Polls show Trump is deeply unpopular and that most Americans disapprove of his handling of major policy issues, from the economy to immigration.
A constitutional court crisis seven weeks before the midterms by a president with questionable popularity. How quickly do you think this will be overturned in the courts? If not within the next seven weeks, how quickly before the other legacy media outlets realize this could be them tomorrow on a whim or perceived insult or slight for asking the “wrong(?)” question?
