Ozzy Osbourne all giddy at Black Sabbath rehearsals ahead of epic farewell show

Nearly two decades after last performing together, the members of Black Sabbath have reunited ahead of their final ever show.

Formed in Birmingham in 1968 by Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler, the heavy metal band has sold over 70 million records, won two Grammys and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

A week out from the anticipated event at Birmingham's Villa Park, overnight the band’s official social media pages shared a photo of Ozzy with Bill and Geezer.

‘Rehearsals are underway for Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow,’ the post was captioned.

Sitting on a couch, the trio smile for the camera, with Ozzy also seen holding a walking stick.

Although Tony wasn’t seen, some fans speculated he might have been the one taking the snap.

Many others were also excited to see Bill, who didn’t take part in the 2017 The End Tour.

‘Omg Bill!!! This photo makes me happy,’

Heavy metal giants Black Sabbath performed their last ever concert on Saturday night.

In front of 40,000 fans at Villa Park in their native city of Birmingham, Ozzy (vocals), Geezer (bass), Tony (guitar) and Bill (drums) performed their greatest hits, including "War Pigs" and "Iron Man."

Also performing to pay tribute were the likes of Anthrax, Metallica, Ronnie Wood, Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Guns N' Roses.

Formed in 1968, Black Sabbath are credited with inventing heavy metal.

Opening of the "Back to the Beginning" concert at Aston Villa FC's Villa Park.. followed by "War Pigs".

Frontman Ozzy Osbourne was tearful at times as the veteran rockers bade farewell.

An ageing Ozzy, 76, had to perform sitting in a chair...

Black Sabbath performing their 1970 hit "N.I.B" on Saturday night.

According to bassist Geezer Butler, the song is about "the devil falling in love and totally changing, becoming a good person."

British heavy metal giants Black Sabbath performing their last ever live song before they retired on Friday night - and the song was their 1970 hit "Paranoid"

"Mama, I'm Coming Home" - Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne fought back the tears at Villa Park on Saturday as one of the world's greatest bands retires.

Ozzy is 76, struggles to walk and uses a walking stick, yet he was desperate for the band to have one more gig before retiring. An emotional Ozzy thanked his wife Sharon for helping to organise it...

Ozzy Osbourne cried backstage after Black Sabbath bow out

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne cried backstage after the British music giants retired.

Artists such as Anthrax, Metallica, Ronnie Wood, Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Guns N' Roses performed at the mammoth 10-hour-long concert at Birmingham's Villa Park on Saturday as Black Sabbath announced their retirement.

They're getting on, but Sabbath still burst the eardrums of all Brummies within a mile radius.

I remember some satire of the heavy-metal types, with the lyrics

We're coming
We're coming
We're coming
Here we come!
We're coming
We're coming
Screaming at the top of our lungs!

You've got to love Ozzy. He just lives his life not giving a fuck. He's quite loveable in many ways.

"I spilled orange juice. I don't give fuck."

"I bit the head off a REAL bat onstage once when I thought it was a toy plastic bat. I don't give a fuck."

Brian May and Tony Iommi play Black Sabbath's "Paranoid"

Two great guitarists of two great British rock bands - Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath and Sir Brian May of Queen - perform Black Sabbath's "Paranoid."

The two men are good friends.

Sir Brian May is extremely intelligent - he's a qualified astrophysicist and has appeared on BBC2's long-running monthly astronomy show "The Sky at Night." He collects Star Wars toys.

Tony Iommi originally wanted to be Black Sabbath's drummer but had to make do with being the band's guitarist instead.

Black Sabbath performing "Iron Man" in 2017

When Sabbath appeared in 1968, the world was shocked by their heavy and dark music.

"Devil worshippers!", the people of the time said, even though many of their songs were anti-war.

The Beatles were big throughout the 1960s. Then along came Sabbath from Birmingham and they made the Liverpool band sound like choirboys.

Sabbath invented heavy metal - although they initially hated that term when it was coined. They wanted to be called "heavy rock."

The world just didn't know what hit it when Sabbath arrived...
