The British Government today announced that Britain is to get back the capability of dropping nuclear bombs from the air.

Britain is to buy 12 F-35 stealth jets from the USA for the RAF, each capable of firing nuclear weapons.

It will be the first time since 1998 that Britain will have the capability of delivering her nukes from planes.

"Supporting 100 businesses across the country and more than 20,000 jobs, these F35 dual-capable aircraft will herald a new era for our world-leading Royal Air Force and deter hostile threats that threaten the UK and our allies", said PM Keir Starmer.

The British are also recognising that NATO countries must stand alongside the Americans in protecting NATO allies.

"The UK’s commitment to Nato is unquestionable, as is the alliance’s contribution to keeping the UK safe and secure, but we must all step up to protect the Euro-Atlantic area for generations to come,” said Starmer.

Britain is strengthening her nuclear deterrent as global tensions rise and the deadliest war is being waged in Europe since World War II.

Britain will purchase at least a dozen new F35A fighter jets and join Nato’s dual capable aircraft nuclear mission

Britain to re-arm herself in a dangerous world

At the NATO Summit in The Hague, Netherlands, today British PM Keir Starmer said that Britain will increase her defence spending to 5% of GDP by 2035

When asked about the RAF regaining the capability of carrying nuclear weapons, rather than just leaving it to the Royal Navy, Starmer said "it's the right thing to do."

British Defence Secretary John Healey this morning told Sky News that he is about to bring back the RAF capability of carrying nuclear weapons as Britain faces "increasing threats" and "rising nuclear risks".

The RAF is to get 12 F35s from the Americans capable of carrying nukes at a cost of £1 billion.

It will be the first time since 1998 that the RAF is capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

Britain's Labour Government seems determined to strengthen the country militarily.

The USA is to sell 12 F35As to the RAF for £800 million, each one capable of carrying nukes. The RAF is to regain the capability of carrying nuclear weapons for the first time since 1998.

The 12 new fighter jets are to be based at RAF Marham, where the last airborne British nukes were homed up to 1998.

Former commander of UK & NATO nuclear defence forces Hamish de Bretton-Gordon believes the new RAF stealth fighters will terrify Vladimir Putin and show Britain is 'deadly serious' as she ramps up her nuclear deterrents.

Russia has a lot more nuclear weapons than Britain has. However, each British nuke is hundreds of times more powerful than each Russian nuke.

The futuristic RAF jets will be an addition to Royal Navy submarines in Britain's capability to fire her nuclear weapons should she ever decide to do so...

I'm not an expert in each plane's technical capabilities apart from I know that the RAF will soon have the capability of destroying entire nations.

Can Canada do that?

Canada doesn't have nukes. So that's not a factor into our aircraft.

You do realize that nukes don't just destroy entire nations, right?

They also destroy everything within those nations.

In 1945 the Americans turned the Japanese into shadows and those bombs were hundreds of times weaker than the ones we have now. They were primitive and weak nukes.

We don't have any nukes, so the ability to deliver them is an unnecessary extra cost. You could deliver a nuke in a freight plane, just push it out the door. Perhaps not as cool, or accurate, but just as deadly.

We fly nukes under the NATO brand.

Yeah but they don't actually carry them.

Only seven countries have the capability of delivering nukes by air.

Britain will be the eighth when it soon rejoins the club.

With NATO. They drill for any and all circumstances. Ask Libya about CF18s These old US Navy planes still have the tail hook. Now they catch the wire when the runway is icy.
