Isn't this hurtful to people who don't have families?

Bad Canada! Bad Canada!
Everybody has a family of some sort. They may be shitty families but families nonetheless. Unless you were born in a laboratory from a test tube and kept in a cage all your life you have a family. And in Canada we have no money to waste on laboratories so its a safe holiday.

What if they all died in a tragic, freak maple-syrup disaster?

You heartless bastard, you!

Where I am the day used to be called "Heritage Day" and we got it off but no one seemed to know exactly what the day was about, we just figured whatever heritage you were, you could celebrate it that day.

Just another stat holiday for public sector employees which has recently been upped by the work form home program. It all adds up to they hardly ever work but of course draw the big salary.

Ironically people who were interested in their work seldom took time off.

So the GST holiday ending falls on the same weekend, as does the decision for the expedited court challenge on Trudeau’s Proroguing of parliament…just saying.
In a court filing, the Justice Centre’s legal team argued that the Prime Minister “has not provided a reasonable justification” to prorogue Parliament.
Happy Valentines Day!
