Nicely done. Again, ours are half the size of other years, but I usually have to “Flip” them at the end of August to get them to start to go into bud…& then they finish in the living room under lights in the picture window.
This year the energy is being used differently by these plants.
The old dog (his name is “Bud” but that’s just a weird coincidence) has mowed through about half of the plants already. It’s what he does and we’re good with that.

Pete, do you “Flip” your plants to get them to Bud? You know what I’m saying?
Smack some 2x2’s or 2x4’s into the ground, tarp your plants (or garbage bags, whatever, but get them into complete darkness) & staple-gun it into place, & leave them in complete darkness for about 48hrs….then peal off the tarps & they go into that flowering stage.
You might have to haul them indoors because it might be two months before they’re done flipping in flowering.

They are flowering we have more than enough time to finish them. They can take light frosts to -5.
That looks like cinderella 99. Its a hemp sativa cross that flowers early. Tastes harsh.
It’s a Heinz57 of oddball seeds so I’ll take your word for it. The Dog has yet to complain.

Stick it out there. It’s a sharing of ideas, & at least for us (Lisa & I) there’s too many variables (like just random seeds every year, or the random outdoor weather) to know for sure what produced the results each year. It’s by no means scientific.
Other years we’ve had HUGE plants, like nine foot tall plants that we had to bring into the house in the Fall that didn’t finish Budding until around Christmas time (golf green lawn fertilizer that I was too lazy to put back in the garage so I dumped it in the garden). We’d have to chop off the tops to clear the roofline in our livingroom.
But what we didn’t (and did) do this year…is we started throwing out food waste into the garden (onion skins, potato peels, ect…), Lisa keeps Banana peels and throws them in a jar for a couple days with water, then dumps that in the garden, & then her aquariums might be a big factor too.
She’s got six of them (buying and selling aquatic plants, fish she breeds, etc…) and when they get a water change (you pull off the top 1/3 of the water and replace it), that aquarium water (nutrient rich) also gets dumped on the garden or house plants or whatever….& “think” that’s part of the difference this year…but it’s also a lot of guesswork.
(The nice “Christmas Tree” shape is from the dog. He’s short and you can see how far he can reach, & we’d just keep turning the plant for him. That’s also why it’s beside that chaise lounge.)
Nice. I blame the whole Green Thumb thing on my significant other. I get where you’re coming from.
I’ve no idea of the advantages of horse shit over fish shit (I’m just not that interested & do what I’m told), but I think that’s a factor, & it’s zero cost instead of just dumping it down the drain.
On my own I wouldn’t have the patience or time for aquariums or house plants, etc…& there’s four of the above in our living room & a couple more in our basement suite.
I do enjoy peoples reactions though, to when they realize the 8’ tall pot plant they’ve walked past several times, after several visits, in amongst a bunch of other house plants….is really what it is. They see what they expect to see, until they notice something different I guess. She runs a home based business (nail salon) so people are through regularly, and there’s literally plants everywhere.
My primary responsibility is the outward appearance first impression thing.
