The simple, but exceedingly beautiful, antiphonal plainsong piece entitled "Veni Creator Spiritus" (Come, Creator Spirit) is a traditional Christian hymn believed to have been written by Rabanus Maurus, a ninth-century saint, German monk, teacher, and archbishop. When the original Latin text is used, it is normally sung in Gregorian Chant. It has been translated and paraphrased into several languages, and adapted into many musical forms, often as a hymn for Pentecost or for other occasions that focus on the Holy Spirit. For those in the congregation and watching remotely, this music was a very moving focal point upon which to reflect while the King was approaching anointment in this private, solemn and important moment. The choir powerfully accompanied the holy anointing in English, Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic, and Welsh, representing people from all over the British Isles. Translated into plainsong by John Cosin during the 17th century, the work was translated in its multilingual arrangement by Grahame Davies, Iain Urchadan, and Damian McManus.

Alongside The King Shall Rejoice, My Heart is Inditing, and Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened, Zadok the Priest is one of Handel's coronation anthems. One of Handel's best-known works, Zadok the Priest has been sung at the anointing of the sovereign at the coronation of every British monarch since its composition and has become recognised as a British patriotic anthem.

OTTAWA — The image of King Charles will eventually replace the queen on Canada’s $20 bill and its coins, the federal government announced during Saturday’s coronation events.
A news release from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the federal government has directed the Bank of Canada to replace the likeness of the late Queen Elizabeth II with King Charles III during the next design process. It has also tasked the Royal Canadian Mint with designing coins depicting the new monarch that will go into circulation.
Canada Post also released its first regular-circulation stamp featuring King Charles as monarch. It continues the corporation’s tradition of issuing definitive stamps depicting the Canadian sovereign, dating back more than 170 years.
The federal government honoured the coronation of Canada’s new head of state, with a ceremony of its own in the nation’s capital Saturday morning.
Elected officials and dignitaries attended the ceremony in Ottawa with speeches, musical performances and special unveilings.
In a speech, Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Dominic LeBlanc spoke of the monarchy’s place in Canada.
“Millions of Canadians are witnessing the coronation of Canada’s sovereign for the first time in a country that is radically different from the one that witnessed the last coronation,” LeBlanc said.
“But as Canada evolves, so do its institutions, and so does the monarchy.”
Leaders of federal parties, including the NDP’s Jagmeet Singh and the Conservative party’s Pierre Poilievre, were absent from the event.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Gov. Gen Mary Simon were in London for the coronation, along with a Canadian delegation.
The Ottawa celebration included a diverse set of performers, including an Algonquin traditional drum group, the Eagle River Singers, and a fusion Celtic group from Charlottetown, Inn Echo.
Pure gold and silver collector coins from the Royal Canadian Mint that mark the coronation were also unveiled at the event.
Rideau Hall is open to the public this weekend for free activities, including viewing a recording the coronation ceremony and musical performances by members of the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Big Help Out: People urged to volunteer on final day of Coronation weekend
Monday’s final part of the Coronation weekend celebrations isn’t just any old bank holiday.
It’s also the Big Help Out: an initiative which sees people being invited to take part in volunteering projects in their local community.
After the pomp and ceremony of Saturday and the glitz and glamour of the concert yesterday, today sees a shift to focus on local projects making a difference everyday, and the volunteers giving something back.
Thousands of organisations will get together to give people the chance to get involved and have a positive impact on their local community.
People are being encouraged to give as much time as they can - be that an hour, a day, or even committing to taking part in something that becomes a more regular activity following the bank holiday. Buckingham Palace wants to create "a lasting volunteering legacy".
What is the Big Help Out all about?
The Big Help Out will see people having a go at volunteering on today’s extra bank holiday.People around the country are invited to search for volunteering opportunities. The aim is to highlight the positive impact volunteering has on communities across the nation.
Activities range from helping the elderly to working with environmental charities and supporting animal welfare.
What are the royals doing today?
King Charles and Queen Camilla are not expected to attend any events today, but other royals will be taking part.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will take part in a puppy class at the Guide Dogs training centre in Reading.
Princess Anne and her husband Sir Tim Laurence will attend a civic service recognising local volunteers at Gloucester Cathedral.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester will meet young volunteers at a Coronation party at St Mark's Coptic Orthodox Church in Kensington, west London.
Prince William and the Princess of Wales are also expected to join in with volunteer events.

Planting effort under way near Buckingham Palace
Here's a snap sent to us by Reuters of one volunteering effort just a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace.
Volunteers have been planting native wild plug plants in Green Park in central London.
As the Royal Parks website explains, the wildflowers are intended as a tribute to Elizabeth II, and will also provide food for insects.
London history buffs might be curious to know that they're being planted in a formation which follows the route of the lost River Tyburn.

The letter is the first document the Australian journalist and WikiLeaks founder has written and published since his time in Belmarsh prison in London and accounts the horrors of his life there.
“On the coronation of my liege, I thought it only fitting to extend a heartfelt invitation to you to commemorate this momentous occasion by visiting your very own kingdom within a kingdom: his majesty’s prison Belmarsh,” Assange writes.

Assange, an Australian citizen, remains at Belmarsh as he fights a US attempt to extradite him to face charges in connection with the publication of hundreds of thousands of leaked documents about the Afghanistan and Iraq wars as well as diplomatic cables.
He goes on to point sarcastically to the UK government’s commitment to roll out the biggest expansion of prison places in more than a century, and the “culinary delights” of eating on a budget of two pounds per day.
“As a political prisoner, held at your majesty’s pleasure on behalf of an embarrassed foreign sovereign, I am honoured to reside within the walls of this world class institution,” Assange writes.
“Beyond the gustatory pleasures … you will also have the opportunity to pay your respects to my late friend Manoel Santos, a gay man facing deportation to Bolsonaro’s Brazil, who took his own life just eight yards from my cell using a crude rope fashioned from his bedsheets.”
Assange goes on to invite the King to the most “isolated place within [the] walls” of Belmarsh – “Healthcare, or ‘Hellcare’” and the Belmarsh “End of Life Suite”.
“Listen closely, and you may hear the prisoners’ cries of ‘Brother, I’m going to die in here’, a testament to the quality of both life and death within your prison,” Assange writes.
“I implore you, King Charles, to visit His Majesty’s Prison Belmarsh, for it is an honour befitting a king.
“As you embark upon your reign, may you always remember the words of the King James Bible: ‘Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy’. And may mercy be the guiding light of your kingdom, both within and without the walls of Belmarsh.”
