She doesn't have a thick skin.

I refuse to use a plural pronoun to talk to a single person. They want genderless singular pronoun -- it is available.

I don't have a think skin either. I try to think with my brain.

Seems to me when you're referring to a generic third person who could be male or female, "they" is less pretentious than "he or she" (or "she or he").

I take a guess. If they say its oot the right one I use the other one or just avoid it by using their name. Hey you also works. Lots of ways around not using they or them.

I corrected the typo.

Damn. I was thinking maybe you had an ancient magical artifact that would turn you into a supergenius when you put it on your head!

OK, I'm watching too many movies. . .

I calculate when you're referring to people generally, excluding half of 'em just ain't smart. Ends up in situations where teachers have to say "When Thomas Jefferson wrote 'all Men are created equal,' he meant humans generally."

It's gotta give a body pause to lie so blatantly to kids. Or should.

Where did I say I was excluding anybody?

Fuck em...if it is a female I call em as I see em, not how they see themselves.
It is kinda funny to see people who hate people throwing a conniption fit over pronouns throwing a conniption fit over pronouns.

Maybe they should get trucks and park someplace until their demands are met.

I blame our piss poor education system. Again. If they still taught English in school, kids would know that "they" is plural, as in it implies more than one person.

If you'd gone beyond grade six, you'd know that "they" is frequently used as the third-person generic singular.

And not just by scary wokesters.

Whenever my teenage daughters say "OMG!", I tease them and say. "OMG! KFC! MTV! DMV! POV".

They get a kick out of their old school Dad trying to be hip. ;)

I like to think I raised a couple of independent thinkers.

I asked my daughter about all of these pronouns in place of male/ female. She replied...

"It's not for me Daddy, but if they aren't hurting anybody i figure no big deal."

A cool, savvy answer.

I've always harped on 3 things with my girls:

a) Just because someone is older than you, doesn't mean they are smarter than you. Trust your own gut and instincts.

b) You won't care what people think about you by the time you are 30, so why not start now?

c) You might have to kiss a few frogs before you find your Prince.

So far so good...fingers crossed.
