If it was vets tearing down the gating that was there to protect the war memorial, I just have no goddamn words anymore.
Not sure how they determined there were vets doing this. I know when I retired they did not have me tattooed and if it was because someone was wearing militaria, they can buy it in the Market area.

What a dolt!!!!

The DND is not the military.
The military is the Canadian Armed Forces.
The DND is the Department of National Defence .

DND is an organization like other departments of the Government of Canada. It is established by a statute, the National Defence Act, which sets out the Minister of National Defence’s responsibilities, including the Minister’s responsibility for both the Department and the CAF. In other words, DND exists to carry out the work assigned to the Minister of National Defence, so the department's relationship with the CAF is that of a support system.

Under the National Defence Act, the CAF are an entity separate and distinct from the Department. The CAF are headed by the Chief of the Defence Staff,

I would like to commend the police, legislators and all levels of government for how this has been handled.

The amount of coordination these people need to exercise is daunting and it's obvious that the slow and steady approach is de-escalating the situation and dispersing the so-called freedom protesters.

Well done Canada. 🇨🇦

Veterans 'saddened' by use of Canadian flag by convoy protesters

"The flag represents far more than any one opinion. The Canadian flag represents this nation and its history," he said. "It represents all people. It does not represent any political stripe nor any political agenda."

Is he sure he didn't heart some head warming stories?

My personal favorite is the Yank who was so motivated to help the truckers that he phoned a bomb threat to Ottawa. . .

Veterans do not want to see the flag being used as a political tactic. It's time that you start respecting our veterans and their free speech instead of spewing hatred at them.

Trucker convoy is taking freedom away, not giving it

I would literally sacrifice my life to give the truckers, anti-vaxxers, anti-mandaters, and others, the right to voice opinions, and yes, even make demands of our government if they truly think they are being unfairly treated.

But don’t call yourself a “Freedom Convoy” if you’re willing to take away the freedoms of others, and disrespect the flag which my father fought under, or wave swastikas, and confederate flags, while purporting to love free speech and democracy.

You can’t have it both ways.
