I guess my point is hard workers back in the day could own a house...raise a family...and have a reasonable lifestyle.

You're a hard worker today? You're probably stuck in a Mc Job or pouring coffee at Starbucks for minimum wage.

Maybe, just maybe we are in this predicament today because we gambled and elected style over substance...the part-time drama teacher dreamboat with the good hair whose last name had the right pedigree.

I think so far the moment is defining Trudeau. I mentioned this was a white protest. I understand many of those truckers are of colour, but I think a good chunk of their supporters are white. Just wanted to clarify that.

And this moment proves Justin is/was horrible for the job.

But I don't see anyone else doing any better, to be honest.

Nonsense. If you're a hard worker today, you're a robot.

Hate to break it to folks, but even if the local factory does come back, it won't employ 5000 men. It'll employ 250 engineers overseeing the robots.

For now, anyhow, seems like sensible, pragmatic politicians don't have a chance against professional liars promising utopia to one side or t'other.

Best possibility I can see is that folk'll wake up when they've suffered enough pain.

Worst possibility is the 1%, supported by the next 4%, using robots to do the work and hiring the next 30% to protect them from the 65%.

There are actually examples of this. Like the South American non-soshulist paradises where the rich commute from their heavily-guarded office buildings to their heavily-guarded gated communities by helicopter so they don't have to risk the favela.

I think at it's core this protest is becoming about top down control and the evaporation of the middle class.

I wonder if my neighbours are the exception , they all seem to be homeowners and are raising families . Maybe they are lazy .
