One lane each way has been cleared on the highway at the main United States border crossing in southern Alberta but a new problem began late Wednesday night. Many of the original protesters still remain in Coutts but moved their trucks over to the right side of the highway after an agreement on a partial pull back was reached earlier in the day.

Travellers and cross-border truckers had been stranded since Saturday, when the blockade was set up in solidarity with a major protest in Ottawa against COVID-19 vaccine mandates and other restrictions. Police tried to peacefully break up the demonstration yesterday, but backed off when demonstrators breached a nearby checkpoint.

This is nothing new Australia did the same thing, police rolled in and they put stiffer mandates in place.
