No one knows, there's lots of theories including fireworks but that's likely a no.
Obviously explosives of some kind that are rumoured to have been there since 2014.
Until they investigate and figure out what it was exactly, everyone is guessing.
But you also don't need to fan any flames of stupidity by making idiotic claims.
Until it's investigated, it's not truth but bs.
They haven't blamed Israel for this that I've seen. Most of it is internal blame so far.

I doubt we will ever know the truth. There will be an investigation which will uncover some findings. 1/2 the people won't believe it. Conspiracy theories will multiply exponentially. And in the end everybody will believe their own convenient truths.
Beirut has industry and shipping.
Beirut has large-scale paramilitary groups.
Lebanon has an army.
Beirut has plenty of things going on the Israelis would like to see stopped.
Coulda been any of those.
I'll be content with whatever the investigation concludes. If they positively nail down this incident to one of those four causes, that don't mean the other three don't exist, just that they weren't responsible for this one.
For perspective, the blast was at the harbor, which argues pretty strongly it was a ship going up.
Just like what happened in Texas City, Texas, in 1947.
