When you can lose an election by millions of votes and still win it hardly matters if there is voter fraud.

So soldiers stationed outside their states of residence should be denied the vote?

He did not say they had no right to vote . As usual you put words in another’s mouth and take your interpretation as fact . Why can a soldier in ****upastan not cast his ballot on voting day ? Sure in some instances they may be in the field , but last I saw most states have some sort of advance polls .

How's she going to get from Ramstein Air Base, Germany, to Cleveland, Ohio to vote, as Walter said "on voting day, in person, with proper ID." Or for that matter, what if his ship is at sea on voting day? You gonna stand down the entire U.S. military on November 3 and let all the members travel to their home states to vote?

I don't know how Canadians vote, but you clearly don't know how Americans vote, so let me fill you in, Skippy. Not that it will make any difference.

In the U.S., unless there is an alternate arrangement like absentee ballots, which Walter wants to ban, traditionally you must show up, in person, in the precinct where you are registered, give at least your name and frequently some form of ID, be checked against the registration rolls, and then vote.

Military personnel, persons whose work has them away from home on election day, students, and other similarly situated persons vote by something called an "absentee ballot" which they mail in.

Seeing as how Walter wants to do away with that, he would disenfranchise about 99.9% of the military, who are vanishingly unlikely to be within striking distance of their home precincts on election day.

NB: Military personnel remain residents of the state from which they enlisted or took their commissions, at the last address before they joined up, for as long as they are in, unless they take affirmative steps to change that. Which is why I voted in northeastern Oklahoma whilst living in Texas, Japan, Germany, Iceland, and Maryland, among other places.

So you confirm what I said , there are arrangements for active service people to vote . I didn’t know the details of same but knew they were there .

You didn't say that, but what the hell.

Nice dodge on me attacking, and you defending, the following statement from Walter:

"The only fair vote is on voting day, in person, with proper ID."

That, of course, is impossible for the vast majority of military personnel (and incredibly inconvenient or impossible for many, many others), but we'll go along with your lame attempt to pretend that you didn't defend Walter saying that, mmm-kay?
