Herd immunity means letting something like 60% of the population contract the virus and therefore develop mass immunity to it.
It really is a marvellous but simple concept.

How will that stop the high risk members of the population from dieing?
How is that better than minimizing contact and spread untill a vaccine is available which will eliminate the virus and end the deaths.

The other solution is to implement lockdowns, which will kill more people than the virus will.
And it may be that a vaccine can only be brought about through herd immunity.

In fact, it is thought that herd immunity may have already happened in Britain.
50% of Britons are thought to have caught coronavirus but the vast majority don't even realise it (which is similar to what Walter was alluding to). So a large chunk of the population may now be immune.

So we will continue this lockdown indefinitely, and continue spending borrowed money , with ever shrinking revenues , sounds like a good plan .

Vaccines work 100% of the time.
If I get a Covid-19 vaccine I won’t get sick.

No. Vaccines DON'T always work. The flu vaccine certainly doesn't, and it's not as effective as other vaccines.

I believe parliament is meeting next week to approve new spending measures . More borrowed money no extra revenue .

Which flu, there are many different kinds. "Flu" is a catch all that encompasses many different viruses. Which "flu" vaccine has not worked.
