Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

If the virus is spreading faster due to density, why do countries like Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland have three of the worst outbreaks (per-capita) in the World?
Because they did not take action soon enough .

Switzerland, with a population of 9 milion, has more known coronavirus cases than Britain, with a population of 66 million.

I suppose, yet again, Britain is being aided by the English Channel.

Well if you consider some losing their homes over it as not paying, okay then.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/nov/14/health-insurance-medical-bankruptcy-debt
“I have amassed over $400,000 in medical bills I need to pay, and still have at least six months before I get a disability hearing. So I owe over $400,000 in medical bills, have lost my house and I live on the street now, with no end in sight,” he said.
Heres is why:

“I paid my $300 copay. After the surgery, I started receiving all these invoices and came to find out the only thing covered was my bed because the hospital was out of network,” said LeClair. “My bills were hundreds of thousands of dollars, so I had no choice but to file bankruptcy.”

She never read her policy or ignored the list of hospitals covered

If I dont take my vehicle to an insurance approved auto body shop after an accident, I'd be paying the bill.

She had coverage elsewhere that she chose not to use

Easy there, that's far too much anger for a Friday night, be happy. Why the shouting? The quote I took from the article was not from the woman you are losing your chit about, it was the story of the gentleman just before her. Easy mistake on your part, you perhaps failed to look for who in the article I was quoting, no harm. But this from the gentleman who lost his home:

In Savannah, Georgia, a 35-year-old man who requested to remain anonymous to avoid being associated with a bankruptcy, recently found himself homeless and jobless due to prolonged hospital stays and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical debt.

A type 1 diabetic for years, he had to reduce his work hours for a cellular retail store when trouble regulating his blood sugar resulted in a toe amputation in April 2019.

“I had to cut my work hours so bills were harder to pay. But in July 2019 I was admitted to the hospital again and I was fired from my job because I was in the hospital. I lost my insurance. They amputated my leg, which means I still can’t work,” he said.

When he lost his job due to the prolonged hospital stay and leg amputation, his employer offered Cobra, a health insurance program for employees who lose their job or have a reduction in work hours, but he couldn’t afford it. He is currently working on trying to file bankruptcy to release the medical debt he’s accrued from amputations this year and he lost his house in October 2019 as a result.

“I have amassed over $400,000 in medical bills I need to pay, and still have at least six months before I get a disability hearing. So I owe over $400,000 in medical bills, have lost my house and I live on the street now, with no end in sight,” he said.

Just couldn't put the bottle down could he? Bill W has a good insurance policy for that.

Bad choices suck, just ask Susanne.

Yet he is remaining anonymous thus refusing any potential help . Sorry smells antidotal .

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

That's the irony of it all. People with mental health or substance abuse problems are going to be hit hard. The reason why the Government is leaving liquor stores open, is there are so many alcoholics out there, and if they shut them down, people with problems would either break-in to them, or have bad withdrawl symptoms, including convulsions, which would require many of them to be admitted to hospital.
exactly!!. It is hard for everyone. The more vulnerable have the hardest time.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

this kind of crisis can create psych issues. Anxiety, depression, etc. People with chronic conditions can become worse due to the stress. Most can be handled by their physicians and psychiatrists. These patients have to be dealt with too. A crisis like this stressful for everyone and some who are vulnerable..... don't cope as well. That is just a fact. Crisis like this can be a trigger.

My mum is one of the 1.5 million in Britain more at risk from coronavirus due to underlying health issues who have received a letter from the government this week advising them (not ordering them. This is Great Britain, after all, and Boris is not keen on authoritarian measures and is a big defender of Britons' ancient rights) not to go out for three months. She has COPD and has already spent three weeks self-isolating at home by her own choice. She was already feeling miserable and then she gets that letter. I used to visit my parents every Sunday, and now I can't. I'm not allowed out. But I'm going to phone them tomorrow and have a chat and see if they are okay.

Oh man, just when I thought there would be no comedic interlude this evening, you go and post this!

Would it have been more believable if a name was in print? Does that give the article credence to you? Even though you would have no possible avenue to prove or disprove an identity? And how is it you came to the conclusion that the referenced individual refused any potential help? Did the article state as such? If memory serves he wished to remain anonymous so as not to be associated with bankruptcy.

And smells what? Smells antidotal? You mean it smells like a medicinal treatment utilized to counter the effect of poisoning or disease? Methinks perhaps the word you were attempting to use was anecdotal. Easy mistake... for some.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

On Wednesday night millions of people around the UK, led by young royals, Prime Minister Johnson and Chancellor Sunak, took part in a round of applause to thank the NHS during its battle against coronavirus. The applause could be heard throughout the country, and drivers joined in by beeping their horns:

So, what I'm hearing is any person speaking in anonymity smells "antidotal" to you?

^Lol. Okay, that one was just for me, ignore it.^

So to be clear, anyone speaking on condition of anonymity is not being truthful in your opinion, correct? I just want it for the record.

Aw that's awfully sweet of you to say, thank you kind sir. Although no apology is necessary, it was a "simple" mistake.

Oh and by the way, Trudeau is a horrible, horrible Prime Minister. But alas, there he is, still. Doesn't that just stick in your craw? It does mine, what are we to do?
