Allan Scott’s daughter died this year at the age of 34 and When he inquired about her CPP he was told that because she was not married and had no children, the money now belonged to the government. Nobody else was entitled to it.
On Sunday, November 6, 2016, Scott wrote: “When the CPP was put in place by the government of the day in 1965 (under liberal Lester B. Pearson) it was meant to assist people that did not have a pension.
Employees put in a percentage and the employer doubled the employee's input. There is no money in the CPP from the government of Canada. For a fee from the pool the government was supposed make the pool grow. We Canadians are getting less than half of what that pool
should be paying out every month. We are being cheated out of something that is legally ours, the government's.
This should be investigated by the Supreme Court. Good information for our families and friends and it should be passed around until everyone has read it.
Those who went before — one major thing wrong with the government's calculations of 'available CPP funds is they forgot to figure in the people who died before ever collecting CPP cheque. Where did that money go?
Also, ponder these additional points:
●The math: remember, not only did you and I contribute to CPP but your employer did too. It totalled 15% of your income before taxes so if you averaged only $30,000 during your working life of, let’s say of 45 years, that's $202,500. Read that again. The government paid nothing.
●Interest on the month you and your employer sent to the government was to ensure you would get a retirement cheque from that money you “invested” (not the government). If you calculate the future invested value of $4,500 a year (yours and your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% interest, after 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98.
●The scheme: if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,78760 per year and it would last more than 30 years or until you're 95, if you retire at age 65), and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit!
● If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a life-time income of $2,976.40 per month. Those in Ottawa have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever did! They call CPP an “entitlement” even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives. Now that it’s time for us to collect, the government is running out of money! Why does the government treat the fund as its general piggy bank?
The government is now calling CPP payouts an “entitlement,” but we paid aid cash for our CPP and just because the government “borrowed” it for other “programs doesn't make our benefits some kind of charity or handout!
Think about the entitlements of senators! We pay for their health care, outrageous
retirement packages, 67 yearly holidays, three weeks' paid vacation and an unlimited number of paid sick days. Now that's welfare. Yet, they have the gall to call our CPP retirement payments entitlements.
The latest estimate (as perGlobal news) is that it will cost us $600-million to bring in 25,000 refugees. The government (according to the Public Accounts Office) is already $5-billion in the hole. How much more will they take from our CPP to cover that expense? Former Immigration Minister, John Mccallum stated in a Global TV interview, that he would present his plan to Cabinet shortly, but he could not be pinned down as to cost. Will they write a blank cheque on our CPP account? The new philosophy is, refugees first, Canadians last.
One final thought on this. The military pays into CPP as everyone else does. Yet, when it comes time to draw on this “entitlement” an amount similar to CPP is witheld from their military pension. Who stands on guard for them? Sad isn't it? Get used to it as 99% of us won’t send this on.

Economic growth slowed in fourth quarter

OTTAWA - The economy expanded at an annualized pace of 0.4 per cent over the final three months of 2018 as the country posted its weakest quarterly growth since the middle of 2016, Statistics Canada said Friday.
The agency's latest figures for real gross domestic product show that for all of last year the economy grew 1.8 per cent, compared with the three per cent expansion in 2017.
The fourth-quarter reading of 0.4 per cent came in lower than Canada's two per cent growth in the previous quarter.
Economists had expected growth at an annualized pace of 1.2 per cent for the final quarter of 2018, according to Thomson Reuters Eikon.
Statistics Canada said the late-2018 slowdown was mostly due to a 2.7 per cent contraction, on a quarter-over-quarter basis, in investment spending. Overall exports saw a slight decline and household spending slowed for a second straight quarter.
The declines, the report said, were largely offset by higher inventory accumulation.
The agency also released downward revisions for the first half of 2018 that dropped the second-quarter reading to 2.6 per cent and the first-quarter number to 1.3 per cent.
Canada's terms of trade — a comparison of the prices of exports versus the prices of imports — saw its biggest drop since early 2009, the report said. It fell 3.6 per cent in the fourth quarter, which was mostly due to a 34.3 per cent decline in crude exports.
The agency said lower export prices led to a one per cent decline in real gross national income, which represents the real purchasing power of income earned. It was the steepest drop since the first quarter of 2015.
On Friday, for the first time, the impacts of cannabis legalization were reflected in Statistics Canada's real GDP report. Canada legalized recreational pot in October.
Household spending on marijuana, at an annual rate, totalled $5.9 billion in the fourth quarter — with illegal pot accounting for $4.7 billion of the total and legal weed representing $1.2 billion.
"Cannabis accounted for 0.5 per cent of total household spending," the report said of the quarterly numbers. "And non-medical cannabis accounted for 11.2 per cent of spending on alcohol, tobacco and cannabis."
The lower GDP figure for all of 2018 reflected a slowdown in most categories, including weaker results for household consumption, business investment and housing investment, which contracted 2.3 per cent. The agency said the drop in housing investment coincided with rising interest rates and stricter mortgage rules came into force.
In December, economic growth contracted 0.1 per cent for the second consecutive month and the third decline in four months.

I don't think it has everything to do with the Corporate rate, IMO The Enviro impact study, Public consultations, Native pay offs, court challenges, next round of native pay offs, work slow down due to protests, Provincial work permits, Federal work permits, local special interest group donations. Alberta report on debt shows bleak future for taxpayers.

A new report is painting a dark picture for Alberta taxpayers caused by the province's debt.

The University of Calgary's School of Public Policy released Fiscal Policy Trends Thursday morning, which suggests the provincial debt will impose substantial burdens on future taxpayers, with younger age groups paying a disproportionate burden.

(Of course the kids will bear the major burden- given the TOTAL size of Cdn debts- it is quite likely that it will take many hundreds of years to deal with the CURRENT DEBT- much less try to tackle new debts that LIE-berals and their idiot NDP cousins continue to run up as they try frantically to buy enough votes to cling to power at ANY price!)

During the 2018 budget announcement in March, Finance Minister Joe Ceci said the province’s current deficit sits at $8.8 billion. He forecasted it will fall to $7.9 billion, then to $7 billion, down to $4.3 billion, then $4.1 billion and finally to a $700-million surplus by spring 2024.

Authors of the U of C study suggest that means the public debt will be about $90 billion with annual interest payments of $3.8 billion in 2023-24. Interest payments on the debt will be $1.9 billion this year.

The report states 16 to 25 year olds will take on 19.5 per cent of the burden among Alberta's taxpayers in 2023, while 26 to 35 year olds will cover 27.3 per cent of the cost.

A 16-year-old can expect to pay the equivalent of $42,252 over his or her lifetime as well as additional personal income taxes to pay the interest on the debt, according to the study.

(NOTE THAT WELL: over $42 grand IN TAXES AND INTEREST PAYMENTS ONLY! The money needed to actually pay off the debt is EXTRA! This is why there will be NO separation of any provinces from Canada! And it is also why Yankees will NOT welcome any Cdn province that wants to convert to statehood! There is NO need to buy the sick cow when the milk is FREE!)

The highest burden will be place on individuals who are 36-years-old in 2023, who will pay $49,864. Older age groups will shoulder a lower burden, with a typical 65-year-old paying $20,605.

(Some LIE-berals will immediately cry foul over these numbers and suggest that it illustrates that old folks are getting an unfair deal- THAT IS NOT SO! Old folks simply will not live long enough under the current tax mad LIE-beral regime to receive as many tax bills as the kids- they actually stop billing you after you DIE!)

The authors of the study said the growth of the public debt should be concerning for Albertans, but it should be especially worrisome for the province's youth.

(It should be a concern for ALL KIDS as the same Tax mad nonsense is playing out right across Canada and the entire western world as well!)

When Premier Rachel Notley’s NDP won power in 2015, she inherited an economy that was bottoming out as oil prices crashed and erased billions from Alberta’s coffers.

Rather than ratchet back spending, the NDP poured money into infrastructure and avoided cuts to front-line services.

(This is a convoluted and diplomatic way of saying that civil service union Hogs CONTINUED to get all the GRAVY they wanted- at our cost! Civil service union Hogs live very nicely on our BORROWED money!)

The plan to get back to balance relies on revenue from two pipeline projects approved by the federal government: improvements to Enbridge’s Line 3 into Wisconsin and an expansion of Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain line to the West Coast which has faced delays in British Columbia.

(IN other words- ALL LIE-beral policy is FAILING! LIE-berals have sworn to shut down the Alberta oil patch for ever and NDPers and Greens have said “ME TOO” and supported the LIE-beral policy! And now we have Alberta NDPers forced to the ugly realization they MUST HAVE oil revenue to survive! LIE-berals and their idiot socialist allies are going to have to make some TOUGH choices if they truly want to save the environment! WE need to heat our homes and supply lights and power to our work places. When a Muslim woman decided to challenge the Harper government’s policy forbidding face-coverings during the oath of citizenship, a feminist non-profit group called Women’s Legal Action Fund (LEAF) sought to intervene on her behalf.

(It is long established tradition in western democratic society that there ARE circumstances where cops may DEMAND that you identify yourself- including showing your face! Why then are newcomers permitted to DEMAND that we change our ways to accommodate THEM???????????????)

(Consider the Toronto Sun experiment in which a 15 year old boy was dressed in a burqa and sent into LCBO stores to BUY ALCOHOL! And NOBODY DARED to question the kid or ask for ID!)

(Or the Muslim kid in Montreal who caused a stir after she got thrown out of a school exam because she refused to temporarily lower her head covering so the teacher could verify she had no headphones in there to facilitate CHEATING!)

(Or the 4 Muslim women arrested at a protest in New York City and who later successfully SUED the cops for compelling them to temporarily remove their head coverings for MUG SHOTS!!!!!!!)

(LIE-berals PRETEND to defend religious freedom but all they are really doing is BUYING VOTES in a very shameless fashion that is eroding Cdn law, civil rights and public safety! When the Harper government cut extended health-care benefits like drugs and dental to refugee claimants, LEAF argued that the change had a “discriminatory effect upon refugee women.”

(There would be NO NEED to discuss medical aid for refugees if the LIE-beral dominated immigration system got its act together and made swift choices! And this of course leads to MORE arguments as LIE-berals open the border to a DELUGE of illegals- while deliberately twisting the law on refugees and illegals from safe countries!)

(LIE-berals HIDE behind a deliberate twisting of law -thus short circuiting arguments about caring for refugees- just give them Cdn papers and then they can access whatever they want! LIE-berals do not concern themselves with the cost or legal details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

When homelessness advocates claimed that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms was being violated unless the government implemented policies to “eliminate homelessness and inadequate housing,” LEAF supported the fight against lawmakers.

(And yet it is LIE-berals who have createed much of the homless problem to begin with! In response to pressure from advocates- LIE-berals threw open the doors to our insane asylums and let all the crazy people OUT- without any regard for where they would go or how they would live! That little detail is FOR OTHERS to work out!!!!!!!!)

(And it is LIE-berals who have repeatedly chosen to give civil service union Hogs those hugely costly pensions and early retirement while NEGLECTING to repair any infrastructure for multiple DECADES - so that now we face huge bills for emergency repairs- but the HOGS still expect EVEN MORE GRAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

This week, LEAF is in court fighting a group of Christian doctors who oppose a policy by their regulator requiring them to refer patients who seek abortions or euthanasia.

(And again- how is it that LIE-berals think that they are ENTITLED to force a doctor to abort a fetus in defiance of his religious convictions? LIE-berals flat out refuse to condemn Muslim female genital mutilation as a barbaric practice yet they think its alright to force doctors to perform abortions? DOUBLE STANDARD!!!!)

(As for the Euthanasia debate- LIE-berals have that one badly WRONG as well! My aged relative wanted desperately to die after spending a decade of pain, misery and boredom- wearing diapers and having strangers feed her and clean her dirty bottom- and of course she was REFUSED an easy way out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(And now we HAVE that dandy Euthanasia law and one of the first cases involves an Ontari-owe man who has 6- 12 months to live- and he is REFUSING to go home to die! He wants to STAY in hospital where his last days will be SAFER! He claims that home care givers have accidentally fed him BAD FOOD- resulting food poisoning and a trip BACK to the hospital for a stomach pump out!!!!!!!!!!)

(The guy claims also that the lone care giver he is entitled to is NOT strong enough to easily transfer him from bed to wheel chair to toilet etc! And my own relative slipped and fell while getting out of the shower with the LONE NURSE not being strong enough to catch the relative- the result was a badly broken leg and several hours of excruciating pain- jammed into a shower doorway - with the weight of her body resting on the broken bone and firemen unable to move her since none of the first responders were qualified to administer those sorts of pain killers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(So the dying man is refusing to go home where he fears being made ill again by bad food, risking broken bones from risky transfers needed to minimize bed sores and he also wants to AVOID BURNING TO DEATH IN HIS BED if another home care nurse should fall asleep and leave his stove running- AGAIN!)

(The hospital has responded by telling the guy: you get two choices- either GO HOME or accept euthanasia! This is the kind of crap you deal with when LIE-berals ration health care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(And really HOW BAD is health care for those most in need? There is a family in Toronto ENRAGED because they discovered their father- living in a care facility- with a VERY DEEP GASH in his leg - so deep he could have BLED OUT if he did not get IMMEDIATE medical attention at a hospital! And he gash was probably the result of a transfer of the old guy from wheel chair to bed- and there was a SLIP UP by the LONE NURSE and he RIPPED his leg on a bed frame! This in spite of the note in the old guys file stating that TWO NURSES ARE ALWAYS NEEDED to transfer the LARGE OLD GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

There’s nothing wrong with groups of citizens pooling their money to intervene in court cases. That’s healthy in a democracy. But these kinds of activist legal groups shouldn’t be getting taxpayer funding.

(As Dehaas points out- LIE-berals have decided that funding lobbyists and pressure groups is an easy way to buy votes and implement UNPOPULAR LIE-beral policy by deflecting blame to the radicals and onto un-elected judges!!!!)

Yet that’s what’s happening under the Trudeau government. The new Department of Women and Gender Equality (formerly Status of Women Canada) just awarded LEAF $880,000 to develop a new five-year plan for “strategic litigation.” The project “will undertake a needs assessment with feminist groups and other key stakeholders to identify intersectional gender equality issues that can be effectively addressed through feminist strategic litigation.” It’s a big boost to their budget.

(LEAF is clearly the the next generation of LIE-beral sponsored protest groups! During the height of the Cold War BOTH Pierre Trudeau and Jean Chretien happily sponsored The National Action Committee On the Status of Women! If the likes of Judy Rebbick and Sunera Thobani and Michelle Landsberg had their way- Canada would have supported the Soviet Warsaw Pact even as huge numbers of east Europeans frantically sought a way to escape from the Soviets and join the West!)

The Liberals have also restored funding to the Court Challenges Program that will hand out grants to groups who claim their human rights or minority language rights have been violated. The committee doling out the money is stacked with prominent left-wing advocates, including former LEAF director and Ottawa law professor Joanne St. Lewis, labour activist and McGill law professor Adelle Blackett, and University of Windsor francophone services proponent Emmanuelle Richez.

(So twisted is the socialist value system that they think it is unfair to arrest natives for committing crimes! Yes- unemployed, drunk and drugged up natives often end up in jail in large numbers and socialists believe it is RACIST to put so many natives in jail since neither whites nor Asians are jailed in such numbers!
