Is everyone in Canada really becoming poor?

The Financial Post released an article saying that a fair share of Canadians are $200 away from financial ruin. That's crazy.

I never thought much of it but I have noticed I'm the only one in my group of friends that even pays into a RRSP and has a TFSA. I'm saving for a new car but I assumed my friends were just an anomaly.

It can't be that bad out there but apparently it is.

Lots of people...many seniors...are house rich yet cash poor. Kinda like owning a fancy car you never get to drive.

I'm due to inherit substantial cash and property down the line, but it doesn't make me any less ambitious. I'm having trouble making ends meet these days, but I know it won't always be that way. But I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones.

Northern Ontario,
If you don't want to be cash poor....
The question you have to ask yourself when you see something in a store...
Is it a need? or a want?
If it's a "want" ....... Wait until tomorrow to make the decision to buy it.

You should include that as part of your campaign to be the head head-chopper. You got a catch phrase yet?

What we need is to spend more on official bilingualism. God forbid a French Canadian on an international Air Canada flight fails to be served a 7-Up in French.

Priorities, I say! :)

Forget that, lets deal with something important, like all those 'code words' you just tried to slip through.

Saving 10% of everything you earn will guarantee you won't be poor in retirement.

MHz...

The Mothership will pick you up at the usual coordinates.
Where do you think was was for the 'missing 2 years'? This return is 'like a wish come true', for one of us anyway. Why does the term, 'last man standing' seem to apply here??
