Canadian mission in Mali

As stupid as many of our UN deployments have been we have managed to a large extent to avoid the meat grinder.

Mali is no place for Canadian soldiers unless they are properly trained and deployed for war.

This half-assed peace keeping mission is going to end badly.

As a Canadian I am disappointed to be involved in this bullshit.

We are sending our underpowered Gryphon helivompters to an ultra-hot place (where helicopters have trouble getting off the ground) to guard our Chinook helicopters. Who's going to be guarding who?

The whole thing is a symbolic token of sunnier ways. It's going to cost us a mint (hopefully no lives) and make zero difference to the security of the world.
