Do we at least get a Fake Lake?

For that price, one would hope so.

May I suggest that we make it standard policy to ensure that every elected MP be provided with a smartphone with unlimited high-speed data access and one week of training on e-mail and Skype? I think that could save the Canadian taxpayer millions on travel costs.

Absolutely necessary. There aren't hookers on skype.

Er... are you saying that Chancellor Merkel has scheduled a meeting with a Canadian German-speaking gigolo in Charlevoix? If so, we should inform the police: buying sex is now illegal in Canada.

Actualy, now that I think about it, how do you know there aren't hookers on Skype?

This type of spending was only bad when Stephen Harper did it.

I wonder if it includes the cost of whatever is destroyed by the riots when those peace loving protesters show up?

It's going to be a gloomy G7 this time. Trump and the other six who can get along with each other...

Exactly. Is it really worth 200 million? E-mail andf Skype would have done just as well. Like I said, they could easily just have videoconferenced with the language interpreters too from the comfort of their own offices.

Also, if they absolutely needed to meet, why not on a navy base where the security is already set up rather than spend millions on temporary security out in some resort town north of Quebec City?

So while people are starving in the streets, Canada wants to spend millions to show off some resort town to its G7 buddies. Ah priorities. I guess a navy base just isn't as pretty.

This G7 is being held deep in the heart of Separatist country ... Sort of like when the G20 was held in Kananaskis.

And what's that supposed to accomplish? If I were a separatist, that kind of Government waste would only strengthen my resolve.

They are spreading a little "largesse" there and wrapping it in a Canadian flag.

Unless they think the local separatists are stupid, they must realize that those separatists are well aware that it's their own taxes paying for it. That does not seem to me the best way to win over separatists.

They realize that with federal spending only a small percentage is their money.
