Past costs are irrelevant to the issue.

Clearing land and building homes and barns with the wood cleared and heating homes with the rest does not take long when considering the number of hands we will have if the program outlined is adopted.

City bread Canadians do not have a clue about homesteading and communal small town living.

I have lost the link but a guy has a program that says that it is relatively easy to have 5,000 people live self sustaining prosperous lives if they cooperate. He is apparently looking for town who are willing to give his method a try.

Apologies for not having the link, but what I put is a fact.

You have to build to code. You can't just slap up buildings using rock and rough cut poplar.

They won't give a loan on undeveloped land.

Read up on FCC regs.
Maybe you should be the one doing the reading.
Land Loans: What You Should Know
Land loans are different from mortgages for home purchases. For lenders, land loans are riskier because the loan’s collateral, the property, isn’t being used for housing, at least in the near term. That makes it easier for an owner to walk away and leave the lender stuck with the land. Because of that risk, down payments and interest rates are higher for land loans than for mortgage loans.

Sure, but the code for pole and beam construction is so easy that a child could follow it.

Basically, if it does not fall down during construction, it will pass code.

Have you never plated with those toy logs.

Post and beam still have to meet code. For every square mm of the house.

That is why you live in a trailer for the first few years. Even a well-site trailer will 'pass code'. Pole buildings come in kit form so they are going to pass the building codes. You could probably park a trailer in one and nobody would complain.

Where does the money come from?

From the taxpayer who will eagerly pay a lot less than the welfare he would have to pay if nothing is done like what I propose here.

This is a money making proposal. Not a money wasted from tax payer proposal.

Not that the government or the rank and file taxpayers will ever see the wisdom in doing as I propose.
