The Morneau thing did some damage, but there are resolutions to these issues and not enough lost votes over them if you just go by the numbers.
In fact, they actually avoided political loss by playing this one right and gained a seat in Quebec.

Harper lost because he abandoned fiscal conservatism. Social conservatism doesn't sell in Canada. Harper was fine, in eyes of Canadians, as long as he kept the nutty so-cons on a leash and managed the books effectively. He did neither.

JT has undermined the demographic that had supported him... In one fell swoop, he pissed-off the enviro vote by approving pipelines and further removed himself from any resource sector votes (unions incl) by virtue of moving the goal posts on the regulatory side of things.
Add in the proposed tax hikes to small business, later reversed but leaving that entire group with the knowledge that they are a target in future.... Unlike his Finance Minister that is doing his best Marie Antoinette impression in the South of France

Since it doesn't benefit either of you two directly it is a worthless project. You two are what is useless around here as that would be for the benefit of many generations that are going to follow. If you want all the money that is available until you both are dust then your love for your own children is pretty disgusting by any standards.
I don't have kids because I decided to remain single and party hardy. That is a lot kinder to a kid than when you party and try to be a parent at the same time. I can come up with ideas that are heritage events which means I care about those generations more than you pricks do. How are you going to be able to make me feel bad about that. hahahaha
