She stated when she was coronated that she would devote her entire life to the British and commonwealth peoples. She has reiterated numerous times that she will not break that promise and will continue as our sovereign until she dies.

Long live the Queen.

She made that speech on the radio in Cape Town in 1947 when she was still Princess Elizabeth.

So she promised she will reign as Queen until she dies before she even became Queen.

I don't know.

Oh, they (the British Government, Royal Family) were all quietly delighted to see the problematic Diana dead. The mother of the future king was bonking an Arab millionaire quite publicly and that and her recklessness with the name of the House of Windsor was just too much for all and sundry. I remember my immediate reaction twenty years ago was ... "British Intelligence" and lots of others agreed with that.

You have a motive, but that alone isn't enough.

The resources available to those people to have someone killed are immense and you can be sure that it has happened fairly frequently through the ages. The British even idolize a fictional "licenced to kill" fictional hero.

Motive and opportunity. That alone is still not enough. You need to prove the act too.

Heck, I have motive and opportunity to do all kinds of things that I've never done and will never do. But that doesn't change the fact that I still have motive and opportunity to do them.

Maybe. I don't know.

That "accident" may have saved the Royal Family, in retrospect.

... except,of course for the ever-present stink of the future coronation of Charles. This will be the best chance of making Britain into a republic that has come along since the 1600s.

We had a thread on this a couple of weeks ago. Typical leftie bullshit.

Since when is BOOMer a leftie?

I thought Elvis was the King.

He is.

The Queen will retire when she dies.

Ha, like most people in the future.

I vote for Elvis taking over.... Way too cool

Sadly we don't get to vote on who the King is. I guess we could crown Elvis Costello as King Elvis II.
