There should be harsher punishments for human traffickers, such as life in prison. Toss away the key.

Hard prison labour?

Make them pay their own keep in prison. Agricultural work, factory work, anything. But don't let the taxpayer foot the bill.

After they get a fair trial of course just to be sure one of them didn't just happen to be an innocent neighbour visiting and didn't know what was going on or something of course.

But for any of them who's proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, absolutely, make them work.

Oh, and if any of them did happen to be an innocent victim of being at the wrong place at the wrong time (for example, if the criminals invited an innocent unknowing friend or neighbour for lunch or something on the day of the police raid, etc.), then I say make them publicly apologize to that person for having placed him in that spot. Not for a lesser sentence of course, but in addition to the life sentence of hard labour.

Welcome the Caliphate, women traded as loot, an enticement for enlistment to ISIS. The notion of women as chattel is deeply embedded in Islamic scripture, marriage and culture.

Nowhere did the article mention the accuseds' professed religion. For all we know, they professed the Catholic faith.

Where did the article mention their professed faith?

You;
Didn't read the article.
Don't want to read the article.
Are a troll.
Are an idiot.

So, pick one please.

The jury was told that the men had no respect for their victims and that they chose them because they were “easy targets”. The court heard that in April 2014, Badrul Hussain – who was found guilty of providing premises for drug supply – was caught traveling on public transport without a ticket. The female ticket inspector claimed that he shouted at her: “All white women are only good for one thing. For men like me to **** and use like trash. That’s all women like you are worth.”

Pretty sure he didn't learn that at Church.

Where did it say in that quote that he professed Islam?

Then again, even if he professed a particular religion, how would that prove that that's what that religion teaches?

Reading comprehension.

So they're probably Arabs; and based on some of their names, the person who named him might have professed a religion, whether Islam, the Christian Faith, or something else.

Did you know that even Arab Christians refer to God as Allah in Arabic, and even Arabic translations of the Bible translate God as Allah?

It's in your scripture too. I'm not surprised you've never read it.

I know a lot of Arab Christians. They have similar names. They are Arab names not Muslim names. Some of them I don't think are Arab names though. They might be Persian names, but I don't know enough about it.

I'm not saying what their religion is either way. I'm just saying that looking at people's names and assuming they are members of a certain religion is ignorance. Incidentally, coldstream probably judged them by their skin colour first.

Right.. they all look like former Catholic alter boys.

Catholic altar boys the victims. It's the priests you have to watch out for.

True enough. many of these words also mean different things in our languages. Islam in English refers to the religion of Islam, whereas in Arabic it literally just means submission. I'd actually heard an argument once in English mind you between a Christian and a Muslim with the Christian saying that Christians were the true Muslims (people who submit) due to the meaning of the name. Allah just means God, Muhammad just means praised one. So these names have totally different meanings. In English, they have a more specific meaning, whereas in Arabic they are common dictionary words.

So what is the official decree on what a Catholic alter boy's racial composition is to be?

I don't know how to paste youtube on here this video has several of the convicted rapists on it

I clicked on the link and it worked.

Still, it is reductionist to say these are just common dictionary words in Arabic. "Allah" means god to Christian and Muslim Arabs. I can't speak of Arabs of other religions but I know Christian and Muslim Arabs and they both say "allah". But that word is important to them in the same way "god" is important to English. In context, you can refer to Thor as a god and not upset anyway, but if you shout "god damnit!" at the Thanksgiving dinner table, you'll get an earful from your pious grandmother.
