Uh, so why do we need "Pride" crosswalks? Can only the "Pride" community use them? Is there a point to them or is it simply something that's temporary for Pride Week?

As for all this Pride shit, knock it off already. Being proud of an accident of birth is pathetic. Be proud of what you've accomplished as an individual person. Be proud of WHO you are, not what you are. If however you solely or predominantly define who you are as what you are, then it's not society that has the problem, it's you.

Why do we need hockey? Is demonstrable need your standard for having anything, or do you only apply that to things you hate?

Are you proud to be Canadian? A man? Of whatever heritage you are?

No assuming required. You're taking issue with them in this very thread. It's a short thread so far. Right at the top. See? You taking issue. Right there. Issue taken.

My nationality, gender, and ethnic background are accidents of birth.

I knew this one was going to come up. And guess what, I'm not "proud" to be Canadian. Why should I be? It's not like I accomplished anything to be one, it was an accident of birth and nothing more. To be honest, it carries a lot more weight to me when someone who emigrated to Canada tells me they're proud to be Canadian than when some White bread who was born here says it.
I have often said though that I'm lucky to be Canadian, although not nearly as frequently since Nov 2015
That however doesn't automatically preclude that I'm not proud of Canada as a nation and its accomplishments.

Being proud of your ethnicity, nationality of birth, gender/gender identity, skin colour or whatever is silly if that's your primary reason for being proud of yourself. It's like being proud you won the lottery. Actually, if you won the lottery you'd have more reason to be proud simply because you did something, like buy a ticket. Being born whatever you are has nothing to with anything you did. The whole concept of group pride is just more politics of division.
Let's use yourself as an example. You're Native American and you are/were a lawyer as you claim. Which of those two things is actually an accomplishment deserving of personal pride?
I'm a hetero, White, Canadian male. For some, that's equivalent to winning the human lottery and their primary source of pride. For me it's four coincidences of good fortune that I had nothing to do with. The four combined certainly don't give me the sort of pride I have from earning my CPL and doing something positive with it besides lining my pockets.

If we spent more time reflecting on who we are instead of what we are, there'd be less need to "fix" society.

The LGBTQ battle cry is "We're just like you!" isn't it?

Then why the need for rainbow flags and special crosswalks? Just be who you are and go about your business. Nobody likes a show off. I think this is where some of the resentment festers to be honest...openly flaunting your sexual preferences and lifestyle.

Survey says? BZZZZZZ You mistake an organization for individuals. Tell ya what, when you take the personal time and expense to fly someone not related to you over 1500 miles for gender reassignment surgery, then you can try and tell me I take issue with them. I take issue with "Pride" movements in general. You do realize it's possible to mentally compartmentalize individuals from organizations, right?
I take issue with BLMTO. Does that mean I have an issue with Black Canadians? I take issue with groups like the KKK. Does that mean I take issue with White people?

I take issue with BLT's...

I don't like tomatoes. They make me break out in hives.

To be honest though, seeing a Pride parade float go by with a 300lb hairy dude in a thong gyrating his wiener at the crowd isn't very pleasant.

Pride is a defiance of oppression, historical and current. The LGBTQ battle cry isn't "We're just like you". It's "We're here. We're queer. Get used to it".

Okay,

But their mantra always seems to be , "We're just like you". And if this is truly the case, then why the need for all of this preferential treatment?

By the way, they hijacked one of nature's symbols...the rainbow...which kinda irks me.

Survey says? BZZZZZZ You mistake an organization for individuals.

And yet none of your criticisms are directed at any organization but directed at individuals. You wrote a lot of about how it's "silly" and "pathetic" to be proud of your identity.

Okay,

But their mantra always seems to be , "We're just like you". And if this is truly the case, then why the need for all of this preferential treatment?

What preferential treatment? You mean having parades and sidewalks painted?

By the way, they hijacked one of nature's symbols...the rainbow...which kinda irks me.

Why?

I bet the LGBTQ community would vandalize a heterosexual-only crosswalk...or at least demand that it be shut down.

I guess a few people still view the Pride of Sodomy as an abomination, and don't want their children force fed with a lot of debauched nonsense as 'Truth'. These days its far more likely to happen in Lethbridge than Toronto, which fancies itself the sodomy capital of the world and has become ever so 'inclusive' and intolerant of religious sensibilities.
