It can be fired from a rifle and hit targets a mile and a half away.

The laser-guided munition is nearly as narrow as some large-caliber ammunition and can fit in the palm of a hand. A lightweight precision weapon, the Pike munition doesn’t tether ground troops to a vehicle launcher. Using a laser designator that resembles a pistol, one soldier points at a target, while another fires the weapon.

Powered by a rocket motor, the Pike munition can be fired from the new family of Enhanced Grenade Launcher Modules, specifically the H&K M320 and the FNH Mk13. The munition travels to its target using a high-tech guidance system that brings the same pinpoint accuracy once found only in mammoth missiles and hulking bombs.

The weapon can be mounted on multiple platforms, including groups 1 and 2 unmanned aircraft systems, all-terrain vehicles, ground mobility vehicles, Common Remotely-Operated Weapons Station and small boats

Really??? They buy some of these and back engineer them?? This is an Iranian weapon from a few years ago.
Used against flying tanks.

It does give the grunts more flexability. The payload isn't big, so how and when it is used will require some thought.

As will be the reloads. Now a Gatling gun version with a clip that comes with 18 wheels. So much for low flying swarms of drones. The Syrian safe zones should allow Russia and Iran to hunt rebels using stuff like this

That too, lol. Anti-tank rounds can be steered as well as larger artillery shells so over the horizon shots are possible if a drone is acting like the middleman. It wouldn't take much to apply that to a .22 and a fancy tripod.
Hovering drone with grenade needs to be about $20 a pop

I didn't look around to find the cost, but $15 million, if factual, would include the developmental expenditures. The unit cost would not be that high.

It carries 9.6 oz. of explosive, intended for use against non-armourered or light armoured targets, so its use will have to fit a specific set of circumstances. Canada is already using them.

I don't actually know but I'm basing my guess on other US military procurements.

They use their ridiculously priced weapons systems as a sneaky way of subsidizing industry, down there, all the while wrapping the practice in their flag.

The underlined part is what makes it unique among handheld wpns. It weighs less than two lb. which means that they are easily carried by troops. The range, according to the press release, is 2300 yd. or 2.1 km. It was built around pre-existing tech - 40 mm - so the transition for the troops will be quick and fairly easy.

Semi-active, laser guided munitions are 'splosives that receive data from the target designator, but the designator receives no data back from the Pike. This makes the circuitry cheaper and less complicated to build. The designator "paints" or illuminates the target, and the Pike is steered in by the designator. IYou will have two guys operating the device. The firer and the guy who illuminates the target.

Both rounds landed within the targeted impact area after flying more than 2,300 yards.

This is the launcher the Canadians are using to fire the Pike. Cost- $3500 for the launcher. I am still unable to get a cost or number of Pikes purchased, but this information was not likely given to the public as Cdn Forces Special Operations uses it. They don't generally distribute much information.
