My nephew, who is in his 20s, is a daily smoker of weed. So was i when i was in my early 20s, and with the much less potent version than is available today.
I quit at 25 when i realized how depressed, isolated, paranoid, lethargic it was making me. But what really scared me was what i took to be signs of psychosis, a desperation and retreat from reality. In any case it was wreaking havock with my life at a time when one should have been building a career, family, community. Beer and spirits never did that to me.
But what i noted in my nephew was i can always tell when he was stoned. He's really a nice kid for the most part.. polite, considerate, respectful... but this other side comes out when he's on the weed. He's rude, self centred, obnoxious. He becomes loud, inconsiderate of others and generally a pain to be around.
People are under a delusion if they think Cannabis is a benign panacea for all that ails them.. when its having a huge effect on their life and their future. It is a powerful narcotic, and will produce far more distress than remedy in one's life.
