A gas tax takes care of that. And remember, buses use fuel too.

Instead, just lower income taxes and GST.

It did raise taxes somewhat on tobacco and alcohol. Good move there.

By discouraging public transit, it allows them to collect more revenue via gas taxes so it doesn't look like they are spending like drunken sailors. Sin taxes historically have been a good place for Lieberal spending governments to hide tax increases and they have gone back to their old tricks. Don't expect any lower taxes from this government.

That position is illogical. The priority should be to make public transit so affordable and reliable that it would be stupid to take the car anywhere. This will reduce our use of gas/oil and our emissions of CO2. This should be the position of every environmentalist unless they are using it for goals other than those stated.
