He will cut it out of other parts of the budget ... according to the white house. Once you get rid of all those departments like the EPA, costs go right down.

Maybe, but why not pay the debt with those savings? That's the greatest threat to the US right there.

Some were debt-conscious prior to the great depression... then it was a race to bankruptcy with Trump joining as the latest prez in the bankruptcy-race relay apparently.

Before then the banking system was different so debt may not have been possible. If it was, I am sure they would have spent.

After Breton Woods, money was no longer pinned to gold, so they were free to print print print, and that contributed for inflation ever since. In turn, that inflation pushed up interest rates and consequently debt. not the only factor, but a contributor.

Didn't Trump hint at something like this on the campaign trail? Just borrow as long as we can and then just declare bankruptcy. Case closed.

Maybe that's his plan? He's planning to declare national bankruptcy but wants a strong military first to defend against the creditors when they come aknockin'?

The crooked bankers are Trump's friends. He wouldn't do that. Plus, he isn't smart

There are different kinds of smarts. I think he's smart when it comes to looting money and getting beaver.

Not enough. $54 x 10^9th will only buy an extra squadron of the special "pimped ride" edition of the F-35 Wild Turkey.

Apparently the Dumpster's job creation program extends only to defence contractors. As to who will pay for it; it will just be more debt added to the US national debt.

I can hear those printing presses whirring up into overdrive now printing more and more greenbacks to cover the difference. And you thought that the run-away inflation of the 70s and 80s was a thing of the past?

So Trump his following through with an election promise, one of the things for which he was elected?

The horror! The liberals yet again not really knowing how democracy works.

Trump doesn't yet know that the cookie jar is empty and that the Middle class that he purports to want to save will end up paying for it!
