How many loans and bailouts does Bombardier need?

Maybe the US could borrow more money to bribe Boeing to stay and sell US-taxpayer-subsidized planes to Canada. Why should we be so stupid as to subsidize our own planes when we can just get the US taxpayer to subsidize ours.

Because the sales of the Q400 are stellar. It's Unifor that is the problem. Why are taxpayers subsidizing Union labour?

I do't support subsidizing the internet industry. I was just saying that if we insist on subsidizing a business, then internet makes more sense for its efficiency. Though better yet might be the agricultural industry to produce food even more efficiently than now. Why not develop agricultural technologies instead. That way, food prices drop and everyone benefits. I sure can't afford a jet.

Construction workers don't all fly around much either and are more likely to use the internet and even more likely to... eat.

Well, yes, all true, but it also helps to be headquartered in Quebec.

Or Alberta.

What I'm not getting from the article is this: are those oil companies getting so-called "subsidies" in cash? Are the governments giving them the billions of dollars like Bombardier?

OR, is it because they get deductions on their taxes for R&D, equipment depreciation and other costs incurred? If they do, then ALL companies, including Bombardier get the same deductions so I'm not sure what the issue is. Perhaps you can elaborate Bar.

Just askin

They get atx holidays or the equivalent. However, you disguise the subsidies they are still subsidies and it means the average taxpayer has to make up the difference.

Canadian oil companies are nor subsidized. You would know this if it were not for your strict adherence to leftard dogma and scandal sheets that you pass off as news sources.

And unlike me you have no source for your post. Oil companies have been massively subsidized for over a hundred and fifty years - in other words almost since the beginning of their existence. Perhaps you might like to learn the history of the industry you adore.
