I for one will be sad that the wall will hide the beautiful town of Jaurez and the lovely cardboard shack architecture.
I was almost there via Brownsville some 40 years ago.

2 of us decided to go on a big driving tour. Ended up in Brownsville when we decided we would drive to Mexico City to check it out. For all you young uns, there was no internet and we didn't really know much about Mexico and how much poverty there was there and the other dangerous elements about. When we got to the border at Brownsville, driving a late model Camaro, we got educated by the Mexican border guards.

After initial chit chat on what we were up to (we had gone to Europe for 9 months and were doing this before starting University) we were asked if we had a gun? Ummm no, why would we have a gun? The guards chuckled and said no, you aren't going into Mexico driving this car etc,. They then gave us the facts of life about Mexico.

We then drove along the border and made our way to Flagstaff.

What astonished us was what we could see on the Mexican hillsides as we drove. Thousands of shacks dotted the landscape, all the way from Brownsville past Juarez until we finally turned up towards Flagstaff.

That was when we realized that what the Mexican Border guards warning was likely well founded.....

Congress voted on border wall in 2006, Hillary, Schumer, Feinstein voted Yes

Flagstaff is a pretty town. Got family there. As far as the El Paso /Jaurez area, it's a good place to get dismembered these days. Been through there a few times. It's always been a pure shythole as far as I'm concerned. I prefer the I-40 route weather permitting.

Can you build a tunnel under a wall of Ground Penetrating Radar?

Ever tried digging a fence post hole on a lake?

When The Wall is talked about, people who are against The Wall being built immediately think of brick and mortar. One of the funniest comments in here was...

"That's not a wall... it's a fence."

They have not been able to grasp the idea of The Wall being more than a brick and mortar structure that can be easily climbed or tunneled under. They have not grasped the idea that even if they overcome border security they most likely will find themselves back in their home countries minus their life savings, which of course was spent trying to get here.

Maybe Twila needs to go hiking south through the Columbia Valley next time she is camping at Cultus Lake to discover how fast ICE/US Boarder Patrol agents will confront her on the Canadian side after tripping a "digital fence" sensor long before coming close to the border.

She could try that too at Boundary Bay. You can canoe across the border but if you even come close to the shore on the US side they will be all over you with arms drawn.

actually I assumed it was like the ability of the us to get mexico to pay for the wall...

nice talk but...Petros ability to communicate clearly is rather suspect.

I guess they'll all just have to swim for it...

It's easy to have them pay. A percentage levied on Mexican oil coming into the US would cover it in one helluva hurry.

So many different ways. Trump knew that the Mexican Govt. wasn't going to hand the US Govt. a check.
