You clearly believe that snarky, false equivalent remarks are convincing.

Cute.

No, I'm fine with both if they happen sparingly enough.

We all know cop violence is a huge problem in the states but terrorism there, not so much.

Common sense dictates that as the population increases so does everything else and crime is no exception. Society is not getting more peaceful, it is getting more hostile, discontented and pugnacious. So it doesn't make sense to say that crime is decreasing.
It's possible that people don't report crime as regularly as they once did and that police don't always respond to reports. That may make it appear that crime is decreasing.

Are you a victim of crime?

No. But I have witnessed crimes that were not reported or recorded.
I scared off a gang of teenagers who were beating up on a black kid in front of my house. That was never reported.
I reported a gang of teenagers smashing a car in a parking lot. The police never showed up.
I know of a couple of women in town whose husbands/boyfriends beat them up occasionally. That never gets reported.
Road rage rarely gets reported unless someone is badly injured.

I'm white, & I understand that every interaction with police is
potentially fatal. Govern yourself accordingly.

My city has gotten meaner. Gun violence was almost unheard
of a decade ago. Only once or twice a year. Now its several
times a week. Statistics say crime rates are dropping? Great!
I'm not seeing that locally. Machette attacks ten years ago? That
was something that happened in Africa & not Regina, but not
anymore....

Personally, I felt safer in a barrio in Playa with a bit of a buzz
on after dark while hunting for the Collectivo Depot than on
many streets or parks or downtown in the city I live in after
dark, stone cold sober.

PS I'm not a paranoid little old lady. I'm 6'2" & 200lbs, and until
this last year a labouror with appitite & fitness level there of.
