“This doesn’t involve lives,” Mr. Swaine said. “It involves the Chinese grabbing something that belongs to the United States. The normal thing to do in these cases is, you issue a démarche and demand it be returned ASAP.”

For you snowflakes, that's social injustice. For the rest of the world it's just called , Us winning, And them losing

I do wish that you'd read a bit more history, from time-to-time. The American occupation of Midway and Wake Island are directly analagous to what the Chinese are doing in the Spratly Islsnds. What is different is that the US did not use them as bases to restrict navigation in the Pacific Ocean, nor did they claim the Pacific Ocean as their territorial waters. The Chinese are claiming everyone else's territorial waters as their own and it will result in bloodshed eventually, probably between the Vietnamese and the Chinese, again.

There is no difference. You don't get it. I said you're looking at it from a social justice point of view. Where everything must be fair and equal.

I'm looking at it from a Us & them point of view, as in I want us to win and them to lose.

Because I benefit from us winning, and them losing.

This is basically why the country is so divided. Because the left look at the world from a social justice stand point. And the right looks at the world from a we want to win stand point.

It's an old trick that gives you short term gain but long term pain.

We all know that when the Montreal Canadians win over the Toronto Maple leaf, There is great social injustice happening. We should give every NHL team the syandley cup at the end of the year.

You don't get it. The Americans are looking at it from a social justice point of view as they are tryng to guarentee the free navigation of the South China Sea. If they were looking at it strictly from what is most advantageous to them, they would probably back the Chinese, their number two trading partner. The Americans are going out on a limb to protect freedom of the seas against a more pragmatic stance. It is like the way that they have supported israel through thick and thin, despite the damage that it has done to fhe US in various forms, over the years, such as poisoning the relationships that they had with those who supplied their oil. They have backed what they see as social justice over something more pragmatic and coldblooded.

its the basic. Engine that has pushed all Nature to evolve and out perform itself in the grand design of Nature to strive and survive. Why bother improving yourself if you are rewarded reguardless, mentalflake?

This is where social justice falls apart

The struggle to win, and be the best is essential in Nature and in human society, for all living things.

Because it feels good.

And if it doesn't you will get punished.

Unless you evolve.

No one needs help, if everyone is helping themselves.

Thwr are a number of retired soldiers on here. I wonder how they would feel about being in combat with the guy beside you who is always looking out for number one, rather than watching your back?
