Teleprompter or not, the man knows how to work a room - I'll give him that. His delivery and use of well-crafted phrases guaranteed to reach the heart of just about any breathing soul, is masterful. It is when you step back from the all most spell-binding delivery and look at what he is saying not how he is saying it, that the message becomes somewhat less palatable.

President Obama is a great orator of that I have no doubt what-so-ever. I would gladly attend certain events to hear him speak. However, as I have learned after having once too often fallen for the rhetoric not the substance, one does not have to actually believe what they are saying in order to speak eloquently and with passion about the subject.

Too bad BHO's actions haven't been close to his talk last night.

He's a piss-poor speaker.

I also agree he is a marvelous speaker, but I also spent time listening very carefully to the content,
and wasn't overwhelmed by his style and grace and ability to speak, probably better than anyone I can think of at the moment. he, in my opinion, said many things that were very true and important toward this
election of either Donald trump or Hillary Clinton. I'm not one to get caught up in the wonder of a person, I
like to look for detail, which I did last night, and found many statements by him that gave me and
hopefuly others a reason to vote for Hillary Clinton.

the garbage that has been crammed down the throats of each other on this thread, as you are almost
all against her, is so over the top and repeated so many times, that I'm not sure if you are all
trying to convince each other or what.

I feel some sympathy toward the republican party, and obviously if I was an American I would not
be voting for their party at any time, but that republican party we have known over the years, is
no more, their conservative beliefs have been thrown out the window by trump, and this party is
on the outside looking in and wondering what they can do, so they can only hope he loses so they
can go back in and start over and build the party they truly believe in, which certainly doesn't
include him.

like Obama said, this election is different than any in history, i forget his exact words, but he meant that the country could lose their democratic way of governing.

as I mentioned earlier, George bush said recently "I might be the very last republican president." now
that is scary to me, as the alternative is not how any of us want to live. a man who speaks like a
dictator, and the things he says in his speeches proves he will close the country, and rule the people
as Obama referred to, people in a democratic system don't want to be ruled.

in my opinion trump is just after the pinnacle in his life, to be the top brass, and tell everyone how
to live, whether they can stay or leave the country, and law and order will be ramped up, hence, more
danger to those who protest, but make sure the police have more power.

now, I read over and over all the hate for hilliary on this thread, but I hardly ever read how you all
think trump would be a better president, it would be refreshing to read just how you all rally toward
him, on what basis. and nothing of what jlm said means anything, he just blurts out one liners, and he
hasn't got a clue about detail. so I would like to read from the rest, just what trump has that everyone
here likes and wants to see him become the next u.s. president.

and because you all hate hilliary isn't good enough, and not a good reason at all, as you all know very
little about her, and even less about trump, so, go for it.

it would be nice to hear some intelligent comments about why you would want trump for pres. all the space that is taken up on this thread against hilliary has become old and so repetitive, I'm not interested in all the sarcasm, the one liners, the smack talk, I want to read 'substance'.

ok, that's it for me, I'm just going to read now, not posting anything else here, I've said my piece.

pga tournament on, I'm to watch golf for the afternoon, have a good one.

Women and blacks have a lower position in society? Says who...and what is your definition of "position"?

They do, on a regular basis they claim a lower position, real or imaginary.

His delivery and comportment are excellent his lines are rubbish designed to catch the ear of lesser citizens. He's TV to the bone. Schmaltz I think describes his acting nicely.

The convention hall got quite empty today wasn't it? A great many disenchanted Americans, the new revolution will not be televised

'The parasite is slowly taking over the host': Some Republicans flee Trump, back Clinton - World - CBC News

So Reyes and fellow Republican John Stubbs, who both worked in the White House under George W. Bush, started an election campaign of their own. They founded a grassroots group, Republicans for Clinton 2016.

"I have voted for Republicans, I have worked for Republicans, I have given money to Republicans. So this is a new space for me," says Stubbs.

Looks like we'll be seeing another two Republican defectors to Hilary by the end of the night.

To be honest, I feel pretty embarrassed for Trump.

This has never happened in the history of the United States of America.

It's funny listening to the Bernie Sanders "way out there" fringe socialism thing and realizing that what he is advocating for, things like health care as a right, all that he is trying to do is pull the U.S. up even again with all of the rich Western World. His Kooky, Whacky Impossible Way Out There platform is how we've lived in Canada, Japan, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Israel, Holland, Belgium... for decades.

They are so far behind.

This has never happened in the history of the United States of America.

The history of the USA is miniscule, other things that have never happened must and will happen to the USA. You feel embarassed for Trump, the numbers don,t.

Hillary has inspired the illiterate and the ignorant, the very people who inspired the invention of the machine gun.

I'll tell you something else that bothers me, DB that some women would settle for far less than they deserve in a female Presidential candidate. It's been a long road and to reach this point only to see someone of less than stellar caliber take the position must leave a bitter taste in the mouths of many American women.

Why do I not like or trust Hillary Clinton because she has done little to prove she is worthy of either. The reasons behind that are many and are outlined in the following article.

From Whitewater to Benghazi: A Primer on Bill and Hillary Clinton Scandals - The Atlantic

any of us can at any time find dirt on anyone in politics and also find good things about those we
want to hear good things about, the source of the articles are the key, and most decide to believe
whoever writes what they 'want' to hear about the person they dislike, and visa versa, the source
of articles is very hard to know if they are authentic or not, and at this time when elections are
on the horizons, filthy stuff and glorifying stuff are written, so one has to absolutely know, and
that is almost impossible, if what they are reading is 100% true.

anyone can write anything they want, give it a big title, make it look important and authentic, and it is all just their opinion, and also their attempt to blacken whoever they want, the internet is full of
inaccurate articles.

I don't read any of that stuff, have not read anything that has been put on this thread, why would I,
everyone hear despises her, and absoluteliy no one has replied to my post saying what they like about
trump and why they think he should be elected.

hilliary isn't a spy or a murderer, if one wants to dig into most politicians, who have been working
government for as long as she has, there will be mistakes, but there is far more good than bad.

it is amazing to me that all of you would actually want to see trump elected, the risks are so high
for the u.s. having him as president, I would hope the electorate saves their country from that happening.
hilliary really isn't the important point here, trump is, it is over 300 million people's lives who would be put in his hands, and from all that he has said, that we have actually heard, that would be a mistake.

Hiram Maxim was hoping to use his gun on the illiterate and ignorant?

What's wrong with that?

Hey, Walter! I'm just listening to a retired four star Marine Corps general who just swore off using torture of any kind.

He must be a Libtard, fuctard, Socialist, Dem-dumb, Obamie-commie, eh?

.. certainly not an "old time religion" Christian .

I hope it does, they would be right to taste the bile. A woman is not a novelty. Hillary Clinton isn,t even human. She is no Amazon warrior. Forgive me but she,s a bag in the truest sence of the word. A discredit and shame to her sex. No woman should want to emulate her. She,s revolting repulsive, I think I,m going to hurl
