Teleprompter or not, the man knows how to work a room - I'll give him that. His delivery and use of well-crafted phrases guaranteed to reach the heart of just about any breathing soul, is masterful. It is when you step back from the all most spell-binding delivery and look at what he is saying not how he is saying it, that the message becomes somewhat less palatable.
President Obama is a great orator of that I have no doubt what-so-ever. I would gladly attend certain events to hear him speak. However, as I have learned after having once too often fallen for the rhetoric not the substance, one does not have to actually believe what they are saying in order to speak eloquently and with passion about the subject.
I also agree he is a marvelous speaker, but I also spent time listening very carefully to the content,
and wasn't overwhelmed by his style and grace and ability to speak, probably better than anyone I can think of at the moment. he, in my opinion, said many things that were very true and important toward this
election of either Donald trump or Hillary Clinton. I'm not one to get caught up in the wonder of a person, I
like to look for detail, which I did last night, and found many statements by him that gave me and
hopefuly others a reason to vote for Hillary Clinton.
the garbage that has been crammed down the throats of each other on this thread, as you are almost
all against her, is so over the top and repeated so many times, that I'm not sure if you are all
trying to convince each other or what.
I feel some sympathy toward the republican party, and obviously if I was an American I would not
be voting for their party at any time, but that republican party we have known over the years, is
no more, their conservative beliefs have been thrown out the window by trump, and this party is
on the outside looking in and wondering what they can do, so they can only hope he loses so they
can go back in and start over and build the party they truly believe in, which certainly doesn't
include him.
like Obama said, this election is different than any in history, i forget his exact words, but he meant that the country could lose their democratic way of governing.
as I mentioned earlier, George bush said recently "I might be the very last republican president." now
that is scary to me, as the alternative is not how any of us want to live. a man who speaks like a
dictator, and the things he says in his speeches proves he will close the country, and rule the people
as Obama referred to, people in a democratic system don't want to be ruled.
in my opinion trump is just after the pinnacle in his life, to be the top brass, and tell everyone how
to live, whether they can stay or leave the country, and law and order will be ramped up, hence, more
danger to those who protest, but make sure the police have more power.
now, I read over and over all the hate for hilliary on this thread, but I hardly ever read how you all
think trump would be a better president, it would be refreshing to read just how you all rally toward
him, on what basis. and nothing of what jlm said means anything, he just blurts out one liners, and he
hasn't got a clue about detail. so I would like to read from the rest, just what trump has that everyone
here likes and wants to see him become the next u.s. president.
and because you all hate hilliary isn't good enough, and not a good reason at all, as you all know very
little about her, and even less about trump, so, go for it.
it would be nice to hear some intelligent comments about why you would want trump for pres. all the space that is taken up on this thread against hilliary has become old and so repetitive, I'm not interested in all the sarcasm, the one liners, the smack talk, I want to read 'substance'.
ok, that's it for me, I'm just going to read now, not posting anything else here, I've said my piece.
pga tournament on, I'm to watch golf for the afternoon, have a good one.
