Cuteness overload as Whistler's white bear cub filmed playing with mom

This little white bear cub has fascinated onlookers in Whistler after being photographed last month with its mother, a known resident black bear.

Longtime bear researcher Michael Allen, who operates bear viewing tours and writes a bear blog for the Whistler Blackcomb resort, doesn’t believe the cub is a Kermode bear or an albino.

“The fact that it does not have a black nose or pigmentation suggests that it is likely the result of a double recessive mutation,” Allen wrote.

“After 23 years of research, I have seen cubs ranging black, reddish brown, chocolate brown to blonde (after summer bleaching of coat) but, never have seen in this population, a cub with pelage this light to almost white. This is not an albino but rather, the cub is possibly a result of both parents having a recessive gene.”

Read that story early this morning, CC...........in defense of his dog.

Dogs will willingly die for their humans but you don't see the reverse, too much.

Sudbury represent!!!!

From the Lake Panache or Penage area which is literally my turf... I grew up in the forest as a child chasing deer...

I just spent a week fishing and feeding black flies up on the Spanish River, west of Lively.

that cub will grow up and rip your body to shreds, eat your flesh and organs till he's full and bury the rest of your half consumed corpse for future dining.:).
I hve lived with bears, they ain't like that, they like berries
once in a while the black bears would visit me, just go through my house without my leave, like I wasn't there,

very deep black eyes, a place you can't go unless you a black bear,

A mothers love, nothing more powerfull than that
