It's a debate forum. If you can't handle the idea your preconceived ideas might be wrong, I suggest you find a forum with a safe space for sensitive people like yourself.
You're a presumptuous buttinski who likes to blow shyt out of proportion. My dialogue here had nothing to do with you. My thoughts on this subject are my thoughts. The fact that you take exception to my opinion doesn't mean dick to me idiot. Why would it?

you're certainly easily-triggered billy. try and relax. grow a sense of ha-ha. shed your sjw shackles. grow some man skin.

because really, you're a big fukkin' crybaby.
fukk off locust and go back to whining about mooselums. :)

honesty in regard to what?

You see Blackleaf that just seems real sad to me. I guess I'm too sensitive.

You all can't have a direct conversation can you? Always with the clever sarcastic remarks. How " honest" of you.
You want a direct conversation do you? Fine, here's a direct conversation.

You blow things way out of proportion to what they actually are, go on endlessly about the shortcomings of others all the while you spend a good deal of your own time calling them 'retarded' or whatever other "lame insult of the day" you want to throw in there. And your "excuse" for doing so, in a nutshell, "they started it, and if they would just stop starting it, you wouldn't have to do it either". Which has got to be the lamest, most childish and immature excuse out there.

Hence the sarcastic remark about trying to find a guy who'll jump off a bridge....because finding that one guy means that all of you "they started it" parrots will be hot on his or her heels.

This is not about you being "too sensitive" or "overly sensitive", I don't care how sensitive you are. What I care about, and what you seemingly cannot get it through your thick skull is that YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

You aren't the only one, not by a long shot. There are a lot of thick skulled individual's populating this place

But a part of the problem you are.

Because every time you, or anyone else, spends post after post after post, giving attention to the person they claim shouldn't be getting any attention at all.....you become a part of the problem.

This, by the way, is what you need to be introspective and real honest with yourself about.

But feel free of course to complete ignore everything I've said, throw the blame back at me because I'm a mod and, hey, you've all but admitted that you cannot control your own behaviour so obviously your only recourse is to expect me to control somebody else for you.

That's your opinion and that's fine. I'll agree with part of it and disagree with part. And that's okay. Now, apply the SAME standard to what seem to be your pets Gerry and Bear and it won't seem as much of a favorites club as it does. ~ This whole thread was me letting Blackleaf know how I felt about pictures of dead people. Now you tell me who blew it out of proportion and bumped it off topic. By the way mother. I do not need you to tell me how introspective I need to be. If that offends you feel free to kick my old azz out of here. Not a problem.

And once again, you are still not listening to what I am saying. This is not about them.....it's not about whether I agree with "them" or like "them" better....it's got nothing to do with that at all. I do not agree or even like everything "they" may say and do....but what "they" don't do (not any of the ones that you've mentioned) is blame the other guy for their own behaviour. What you have been telling me, and you are not the first one to do so, is that if it wasn't for them you wouldn't "have to put them in their place".

There is an ignore button...Use it!

I myself do not care for a few members here, I'm not naming names but anyone who knows me probably knows who I mean but I don't have them on ignore, I simply ignore them so that I don't feed the fire that causes the behaviour that I don't agree with. Tell me, do you honestly not see how that works?? Do you think that means that they "win" and, if so, at what?

Please, Dear God, somebody answer that last question because I have asked and explained this I can't even count the number of times and nobody seems to freaking get it.

Oh, wait a minute, you know who does get it? People like the ones you've mentioned, and have insulting referred to as "my pets".(Again, are we children here?)

I guarantee, absolutely 100% guarantee that if someone truly ignored either of them one of two things would happen. One, they wouldn't keep after someone (I can attest to this personally, in the past, if I want something dropped, I simply dropped it. Problem solved!). Two, if for some reason anyone did not cease when someone truly showed they had no interest, then I would step in. I don't care who it is (and I'm also willing to bet that they would understand exactly why I would have to do so).

And by the way, my first reply to you in this thread was an attempt to actually stimulate a discussion and not have the thread, another one, end up in the toilet.

When you look at it relatively to those days when getting someone to photograph you was expensive. I think someone with a few brain cells can figure out what is going on.

Let me give you a hint.

They want a visual memory of the dead person, before they get buried. Because they don't have any other pictures of them while they are alive.

I think the fact that cameras have become so common distorts our ability to understand why people would want to photograph dead people. The ability we have to pop unlimited pictures means we have no need to take a picture of someone that is dead, because we have many of them already of when they were alive.

A reality people in the past didn't share with us.

When I take this into consideration, I can understand why people in the distant pass wanted to do this.

Especially when no pictures of the dead person had been taken before they died.

That makes sense, Angstrom. It's not so weird when you consider the relative reality.

Based on our current reality it seems really sick, but that's because reality has changed. And has made us ultra sensitive.

Most opinions on certain things are shaped by life experiences. If you've ever held a dead child in your arms you possibly could relate to a negative or sad feeling regarding these pictures be they fake or not. If not there's no way you would understand. I just commented that I thought they were morbid and they are.

heh...well, that and getting fooled by a century old shopped photo.

then the likes of yours truly being the one to point it out to you in public.

you had your feelings bruised but can't let it go.

kinda funny but more sad. we've had plenty like you round these parts over the years.

you'll either man-up or rant-off into the sunset with your wee tail between your skinny legs.

I'm hoping you choose the former but ya never know. ;-)

You've made it pretty clear who you like and dislike. But it's kinda like those chatrooms with their admins it doesn't matter. It's all entertainment anyway nothing more. I don't like pictures of dead children. Fake or real. That's about All I have to say on this subject

My argument is, it's relative.

A parent who had 12 kids and lost 3 of them would be less sensitive of a person to these pictures then a parent who had 3 children and lost 1.

A person accustomed to seeing people die, would be less sensitive to death then someone who rarely experiences it like us.

This means that our generation of humans is generally more of a bunch of pu$$y's then previous generation of humans, who were generally exposed to harsher realities of life then we have.

That your offended, is intellectually funny. It's just a fact. Nothing to get offended about.

As far as getting a picture is concerned, a family portrait was a costly project - one of those "someday soon" things. Like everything, it only becomes a real priority once it's too late

Ya, like better to late then never.

That's how I imagine these odd situation ended up happening.
