Funny you should say that. Going to see Meatloaf in Hamilton tomorrow.

Rock on IRBS.............hope you have a great time. Meatloaf is one of my all-time favorite bands.

A sweep would have been better.

Yeah, a sweep would have been nice but still, taking two games against the Red Sox is more than the pundits thought they would get.

The Jays effectively won the series with the Yanks yesterday but have a chance at the sweep today. JA Happ went 7 innings for a no decision and closers Biagini and Osuna finished off the game. Kevin Pillar proved once again his value to the team with a diving catch that robbed the Yanks of extra bases, he also stole a base and finished the day with 1 for 2 and a run scored. Darwin Barney also had a couple of outstanding catches and added a double of his own.

Go, Superman Go.

The score was zip zip when I switched to the SCF so it was with great pleasure when checking their site just now, I read that the Jays not only swept the series, they got a shut-out with a really impressive 7 - 0 win. Will definitely be watching Rewind. Righteous win Blue Jays.

Both my teams won tonight!

3 runs give up all series to the Yankees. And the bullpen actually working. Jays have won 10 out of their last 13. Time for a run @ Boston and Baltimore.

I'm watching blue jays in 30, as we speak, cause I missed ball game too, except for early innings.

Top of the fourth and so far, the Jays are holding their own. The outfield is making some great saves for RA who has allowed 1 run so far though he does seem to like giving up walks. The Sox have had a lot of guys on base but only the one got home.

Josh made another of those bare-handed throw to first plays for the out and Darwin Barney propelled himself off the ground to snatch another run from the Sox - both were lovely to watch. RA just made a great play that was finished by Josh and Darwin. The pitch came off the bat and right back to RA, he turned and waited until Darwin was close to second and Josh was between there and 3rd and they caught the runner for the out and stopped the runner on first from advancing. Poetry in motion.

Into the 5th now and the score is 3 - 1 for the Jays.

Going to the bottom of the 6th, score still 3 - 1 Jays. Pitchers have taken over the game - both David and RA are doing well though the last 5 innings. No hits, 5 walks and 2 strike-outs for RA so far.

Oops as I wrote that Ortiz just got a double off RA.

RA left Ortiz stranded on 3rd and got out the inning with just the double.

So..........were are bottom of the 8th, Joe Biagini in to pitch for the Jays and he walks the first batter. The Jays got a couple more hits whilst I was away and the score is now 5 - 1 for the Jays.

Roberto came in and saved the Jay's keisters after Joe loaded the bases. Sox managed a run and the score is 5 - 2 going down to the 9th.

Oh, oh......big bruhaha about Osuna balking..............looks like he did but after conferencing by the refs, they say he stepped off and with 2 out, 1 at 3rd and 1 at first Bogaerts comes to the plate.

2 and 0, 3 and 0, strike 1, foul - full count, and Osuna strikes him OUT! Whoa high tension there.

RA and the Jay's take Game 1 against the league-leading Boston Red Sox. Good on em.

that last pitch was a beauty, with a full 3-2 count, he threw a rising fastball in the high ninetys,

that did the trick, striking out a very good batter, and ending the game, and giving him the 'save'.

stroman tomorrow against boston's knuckle baller.

Stro is rather shaky out there today. Donaldson is benched with an injury. Tulo's still out but Darwin has been filling in nicely. The Sox got a run in the second and lead 1 - zip bottom of the 3rd.

Stroman gives up two more in the inning but leaves two stranded.

Jays got one on the board but gave up another one and the Sox are ahead 4 - 1.

Marcus is really struggling out there - wouldn't be surprised to see an early pitching change though that will screw up their bullpen.

Wow.....................the Jays just scored two runners on a strike-out call on Saunders. The catcher missed the ball, the runners made it home and Saunders is safe on first with 2 out.

Edwin just drew a walk.

Goins pops out and the inning is over but the Jay's have batted back to come within 1 of the Sox.

Marcus gives up another run in the 5th and the Sox are up 5 - 3.

A walk, a wild pitch and a ground-out plus a stolen base and the Jays put another one on the scoreboard in the 6th.

The outfield just made an outstanding play resulting in a Boston runner being tagged out at home plate. Saunders to Goins to Russell and he's out! The ball was all the way down in the left corner of Fenway Park. What a play by the Jays.

Well that is all for naught. After review they say the foot of the batter hit the plate before Martin tagged him. Sox score another runner and are 6 - 4.

6 - 4 the final as the Sox show their stuff tonight.

Whoa..............I do believe the Jays have something going here today. We're in the bottom of the 4th. Estrada is pitching today and I think he has found his rhythm, the outfield has found it's stride and the batters have found some good balls. The Jays lead 4 - 0. 3 up, 3 down for Marco and we are off to the 5th.

Red Sox go down in order in the 5th.

Russell Martin homers in the 6th and chases the pitcher Rodriquez from the mound with 2 out and nobody on. Devon Travis is working the new guy over pretty well but ends up striking out. Jays get another one on the scoreboard 5 - 0.

3 up, 3 down for Estrada ending the 6th.

Red Sox - no hits through 7

Jays - no runs top of the 8th still lead 5 - 0

Marco gives up a homer but gets out of the inning with the Sox getting one on the board but no further damage. Marco going 8 for the team is a big boost to the bullpen. He was shaky in the first but once he got dialed in he was something to watch against those great Sox batters.

Marco is back out to try and finish off the Sox in the 9th.

No complete game for Marco as he gives up a hit to lead off the bottom of the 9th and Osuna will come out. Great game for Marco who allowed just one hit and the homer against the Red Sox today.

Ortiz drives in the second Sox run of the game with a double. 1 out

Ramirez (sp?) scores another run for the Sox after hitting a double and bring the tieing run to the plate.

Bradley scores Rameriz on a long single to right and the Sox are within 1 with 2 out.

More high tension for the Jays as Osuna almost, almost gave up the game but came through with the final out before the Sox could tie the game. The Jays win game and the series with the Sox.

They Jays are now 4 above 500 and 2 and a half games behind the league leading Red Sox.

No lead is ever safe at Fenway. Taking 2/3 in Boston is impressive.

Our first games we are seeing is Thursday and Saturday (2 separate ticket acquisitions) against Baltimore.

I have nothing but praise for Marco Estrada after his performance today, IRBS. Against those Sox batters, he fumbled a bit but then he settled down and became almost like a well-oiled machine. He retired 17 batters and kept his pitch count within reason. The bats weren't fabulous but they sure are upping their homer count. The outfield didn't make any errors today either. All round good effort by the Jays and just at the right time in the season, I'd say.

Hope you have a grand time at the games.............will be looking for you in the crowd.

vs

J. A. Happ

vs

Michael Fulmer

I'll be switching at 5 PM to G4 of the STF so will only get to see a bit of the ballgame. Wish the guys well - would be nice to see Happ come through for the team. He's done well lately so we'll see how he does against the Tiger's batters.

Ooooh that Joey...........gets a lead-off walk from Fulmer.
Josh strikes out
Edwin gets a hit that turns into a double take-out for the Tigers

Lead-off batter flies out
Next batter walked
Okay, Happ made it out of the inning with no runs scored

Jays get three to the plate but a strike-out by Travis leaves Michael stranded on 3rd and no runs scored

First batter singles out
Second batter gets to 3rd on a long drive that went over Kevin's head
Happ walks next batter
Tiger's steal second
23 stolen bases against Jays
Next batter hits a 3-run homer with 1 out
Another ball gets away from Martin and the runner scores
Base hit
Finally, Kevin snags a pop-up and the inning is over but not before the Tigers go up 4 zip on the Jays
Not a stellar inning.

Kevin flies out
Darwin gets to first on a single that the Tigers missed
Joey at the plate but he pops out to the right field - 2 out
Oops the STF is about to start so have to leave it here..............sure hope the Jays can pull their socks up.

Oh dear...........looks like it was one of those nights when just one of my teams gets to win. Talk about an off night. I just saw the low lights and won't be watching Rewind tonight.

If they only show the Jays offense, well they can put a rerun of Laverne and Shirley on with all that extra time. Great game if you are a tigers fan.

It looks like I will get to see Stroman (he has really sucked last couple games) pitch and Happ (certainly hope he pitches better than today) for the games this weekend. I hope at least one of them wins.

From what I saw the outfield had a few problems too. I sure hope Stroman can pitch a good game - he really needs too.
