Premier Brad Wall criticized on climate science stance

Following a reference to "misguided dogma" in the throne speech and some heated comments from Brad Wall in the Saskatchewan legislature, a group of environmental activists is calling on the Premier to clarify his stance on climate change.

More than 1,000 people have signed an online petition criticizing Wall for his comments.

They've raised concerns the premier does not accept climate science — the belief held by many scientists that human activity is causing a buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, leading to global warming and climate change.

Mark Bigland-Pritchard, with Climate Justice Saskatoon, is one of the organizers of a town hall meeting planned for Wednesday evening.

He's also written an open letter to the Premier asking him to clarify his position on climate change.

"He's out of touch with reality, to be quite honest," said Bigland-Pritchard.

Criticize all you want, he's right and a stand up guy who won't lie to you to raise revenues.

That's refreshing.

.8% of the people is nothing.

He's a blowhard that's losing support on this.

You will see an about face after the Conservative Convention because the federal CPC are now accepting carbon pricing.

When are people going to realize there is nothing, nadda, zip, zero that humans can do to control the climate. It has been changing for 4 billion years and will continue to do so regardless of any cash-grab implemented by any govt. If we all stopped using any fossil fuel tomorrow the climate would continue to change.

We've already been affecting the climate.

And there's no cash grab if the carbon pricing model is revenue neutral.

No we haven't. Median global temperature is within 0.1 degree of where it was 50 years ago.

Revenue neutral? You really that stupid? collect billions in taxes from the citizens and distribute it to their friends companies and 'scientists' who give them false reports to back up the cash-grab which are blindly accepted by the likes of you. It's even going to affect your welfare check when the price of everything goes up 20% or more.

Do you think Govts make declaration for show without following through?

Nah! They would NEVER lie to us. LOL

Yes, we've increased global average temperatures by a significant amount and carbon tax revenues are documented as well as offsetting tax reductions.
