Just like you applauded George Wallace for standing in the school door.
I never applauded George Wallace at the University of Alabama door, although i was really too young to have an opinion at the time. To the extent that a Canadian can have an opinion on U.S. domestic issues.. i supported desegregation, opposed busing (which destroyed neighbourhoods) and opposed affirmative action, which amounts to reverse discrimination and racial quotas.
There has been a totally cynical attempt to equate homosexual rights with the civil rights movement and racial equality. It is completely different. Homosexuality is something you DO, race is something you ARE.
To give people who commit sodomy special protection as a 'class', recognition as a certified 'victim', celebration as a legitimate culture (it amounts to a special category, unequal to others) makes as much sense as doing the same for alcoholics, junkies, gambling addicts.. its the same type of self destructive behaviour.. the same type of pathological rejection of one's own natural identity, dignity and purpose.
